Dinner Party Advice

I am having a dinner party for 12 people. I want it to be very elegant and am using all my good china and crystal and my grandmother's linen table cover and napkins. I am having trouble planning my menu. Here is what I think I will definitely have so far.

coquille st jaques served in a shell on the dinner plate when the guests sit down as a first course.

Rib roast is on sale locally this week for 4.99 a pound so I am having a rib roast with 7 ribs. Originally I was going to serve a whole tenderloin of beef but that is far more expensive.

Wild rice casserole with pecans

Emerill Lagasse's carrot souffle recipe which serves 12

Fresh tiny string beans (from Costco) but would like to serve with mushrooms or almonds or some sort of thing like that - any suggestions

Crescent rolls

Chocolate ice box cake for dessert

I need some appetizer suggestions to serve in the living room when guests arrive. I have a recipe for a brie and cranberry appetizer made in little muffin tins but I would like something else. I make a good salmon mousse but thought that wouldn't go with the Coquille St. Jacques.

I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks for your help.
