CF Activities for 2009

I've been trying to think of some fun cooking and baking ideas for the CF.

Something like the Burger Night Party we did last year or the Pizza Party. The idea being to focus on something pretty universal, like maybe a Pasta Party, Appetiser Dinner, No Meat Dinner, Salad Only Night, Where's the Beef Night, Soup and Bread, Special Desserts, etc.

Any ideas?

Another idea I had was an ingredient focus. I could start it by naming the first ingredient. Then we all share what we make using that ingredient over the next two weeks. At the end of the specified time span, all those who shared a write-up, picture or critique and recipe would qualify to have their name thrown into the hat and one of those names would be drawn. That person would then get to choose the next ingredient focus.

For example: Lemon

We make and share something we use lemon in.

Can you tell I like games???

Anyone else have ideas for activities??

Sounds fun to me, Nancy! I like both the theme dinners and the single ingredient focus. Because I enjoy the Perfect Pantry web site, I would like to see a Cook-Out-of-Your Pantry theme where we fix a meal focusing on items from the pantry or cupboard - canned goods, rice, dried beans, pasta products, grains, etc.

I'm in too! I will have to work around DHs current dietary restrictions, but I will follow the group as much as possible.....

CF (01) error code ...please help!on kenmore elite oasis dryer??

You will need to put the dryer in diagnostic mode to get the actual "F" error codes. The "CF" codes that are flashed when errors are initially detected are not the same codes that are defined in the tech sheet for your dryer for diagnosing the actual cause of the detected error. Remove the top console (plastic control panel) of the dryer ( 3 screws on the back, tip and slide forward). Inside the console or taped under it should be the tech sheet for the dryer (unless a previous service person did not put it back). Read over the tech sheet. In there will be a section on how to initiate the computer's diagnostic routine. This is typically activated by pressing and holding any button on the console (other than the stop button) for 2-5 seconds, seven times in a row. When activated all the LEDs (lights) on the console illuminate, and then the console displays the actual "F" error/failure codes. From what I have dug up, in many cases with these Oasis Dryers ( like my model 110.67082600), the typical one which will be displayed will be the F-02 code (even if you got CF 01, 02 and/or 03 before activating the diagnostic routine). F-02 indicates that a button (or possibly several) on the front (user interface) console is simply stuck. If this is the code you get, simply press each of the buttons on the main console and to find which button is indeed sticking (i.e. the one that doesn't work will be the culprit). Save the Stop button for last as that button exits the diagnostic mode, if it is not the one that is sticking. The tech sheet (which again should have been right inside the console housing) explains step by step how to remove the console interface board from the console housing (3 screws and 3 plastic clips). Sometimes simply playing with the button on the board will get it unstuck, but a simple spray with electronics contact cleaner (which can be purchased at any Radio Shack or other electronics parts store) into the base of the stuck switch on the board, and pressing it quickly a few times will usually do the trick. Once the button is unstuck, no more error code, and the dryer will work fine again. If you can't seem to get the button unstuck (or if it is really damaged), you can either replace the button switch yourself (if you have the electronics and soldering know-how), or buy a new console board from one of the many online parts houses for around $100. If you have model 110.67082600 and still get F-01 as your diagnostic error code, then yes you have a "Primary Control Failure" and will need to replace the mother/main board, which also runs around $100. The main board really isn't serviceable since most of the components are surface mount parts (with the exception of a few large capacitors), and the entire board is coated with a thick plastic-like coating to prevent moisture intrusion and corrosion. Again you will need to locate the tech sheet inside the console housing or order one from Whirlpool or Sears for you model for under $10 if yours is missing. Some models vary in what each code means so you will need the tech sheet to be sure. Best of Luck Everyone...

Here are the updates from Thursday and Friday: Thursday Morning Update December 28 Journal entry by Mikki Spagnoli — 12/28/2017 It appears that her high fever is nuero related and they have ruled out infection through blood and urine cultures. I'm not sure if I feel better or worse about that. She is still scheduled for surgery at 12:00 today. Please pray for her and all involved around that time. I also want to say that after spending 14 nights in Memorials PICU I can testify that this floors medical staff is unbelievably amazing. While I'm eager for Ella to head to the next part of her journey I feel forever blessed by these individuals. They have treated Ella and our entire family as if we were their family. The care has been nothing short of top notch and we are blessed to have such a medical option in our area. FRIDAY MORNING Update December 29 Good morning. We are still planning our departure at 10:00. This leg of our journey is coming to an end and I have so many mixed emotions. As I stated before Memorial Hospital has provided excellent care and treated us like family. The comfort that I have felt is scary to leave. Also, the location to our home has allowed family and friends to visit us daily. This has allowed us a sense of normalcy, even for just a moment, when there is none. The distance is a scary thing for me. I am grateful that we are headed to Mary Free Bed, as it is top notch in care for those with traumatic brain injury. Having said all of that, "we go with God". Now that I'm finished with my dental work I'd like to participate also. Depends on the day though...DH is really only here for Saturday night dinner (he gets in too late on Friday for me to fix a large meal).

I'll play . I like the ingredient theme because it would encourage all of us (especially those lovely newbies) to post recipes. As much as I love the recipes I have collected and shared , I would love some "fresh meat".

We could turn the ingredient/recipe theme into a virtual dinner party...then move on to ingredient 2.

So you throw out an ingredient, we all jump in with T&T recipes. In two weeks we have a virtual dinner using one of the posted recipes (anyone you like we would not have to cook the same).

Then you draw names and someone picks ingredient 2....could go on a long time and be lots of fun.

Keep me posted! Now that I've confessed to Joe that some of his dinners have been on the internet, he's even getting into the whole thing. Last night he suggested getting out the camera to take a picture of his quiche!

I'd love to play as much as I can. I've thoroughly enjoyed the virtual dinner parties I've participated in before. I'd go for an ingredient theme, or any theme pretty much.

I like both the theme dinner and the theme ingredient ideas.

I will certainly participate when I can. We enjoyed the virtual parties we did, but the ingredient ideas sounds good too. (Also we can do it on our own schedule!)

I like both ideas and will participate when I can! I already like your theme ideas.

I don't know if this is a good idea but had thoughts about picking a chef - say Julia and then everybody makes something from that chef - either it is discussed before hand or it is a surprise to see what people made? .... I dunno ... LOL

I'll try to play too. I like the 2 week window, that will allow me time to fit it into my schedule. I like the idea of a specific chef or ingredient, that's a nice twist.
