Outlook 2010 won't show sents or deletes

New computer with Win 7, Office Pro 2010 OEM. My ISP also has sales and service and I bought the Equus/Nobilis computer from them. Their tech just left after making a housecall - I appreciated the service but my problem wasn't solved, he was as puzzled as I am.

My Outlook doesn't show my sent items, or items I've sent to the delete file. I can see when googling I'm not alone in this but I can't find a reliable source for a solution - and there must be one. ?.

I tried filling out the help form online at Microsoft Help and with OEM in the product number it seems to refer me to the manufacturer. Has anyone run across hidden sents and deletes in Outlook 2010?

The mail is there, but where. If I type the name of a recipient for example in the search function, it brings up all mail to and from that person. But that has to be done one at a time, all mail to all address is not listed by time in Sent Items.

I do have one email in sent items - it's an invoice sent thru my Quickbooks program.

Here's an update on my problem - which is now half solved:)

My ISP tech entered a command yesterday to save all mail to computer/machine only and that has resolved the sent mail issue. Emails are appearing as they should in the Sent file. Similar attempts did not correct the issue of deleted emails not showing in the delete/trash file.

This morning I looked into Windows files and folders troubleshooter and installed a little program called FixIt - I have no idea how well this really works. FixIt reported a corrupt Delete file and a View setting that was 'lost or incorrect', asked if it could repair, I said Yes, and it prompted successfully accomplished. But nothing changed.

Currently Sent folder is normal - and that's huge.

As for Deleting items, if I click the X, the email leaves In or Sent boxes. It does not show up in Deleted items. If I use the Outlook search function to look for it, I can find it. If I click on Empty Deleted Item Folder and search again, its gone.

I can drag mail from In and Sent boxes into the Deleted items at left and they do stay there then, and the number count increases appropriately with each dragged email.

Have you run Diagnostics on Outlook yet? I don't have that version, but in 2007, it is under Help--->Office Diagnostics.

Maybe that will shed some light.

That's a good correction on The Pilgrim. Admittedly, I got quite a kick out of the way in which our SoCal Austin critic Jeri makes him sound like a menace, poor thing. Well, he's a pretty famous and time tested rose and shows none of this, uhm, creepy behavior in our English garden where he resides as a beautiful, well branched non-floppy shrub, easily kept in shape. I've also seen him as the same mannerly shrub in various front yards and as a mannerly climber on houses in town where he is a sight to behold. All this might depend on the climate and length of growing season which is probably even shorter in z5 Missouri than it is here in z8 England, never mind z10 SoCal. I'll post some pics later in the season. Anyway, better stick to the others to be on the safe side! I agree that the Romanticas are HT-type in growth and leaf, completely character. You could also try some roses of the Italian breeder Barni that are not unsimilar to the Romanticas in character. Roses Unlimited sells them in the US. Hard Drive problems - Again- Worse - Windows won't start

Whew! I took out the replacement second internal hard drive (and the external hard drive). Rebooted - everything booted up fine. Then I shut down. Reattached the external drive - booted up - everything's fine. So does it seem that the replacement drive from WD is bad as well? (I did not put the 2TB drive back in - but it was working fine before. Again - this drive was bought for when I get around to setting up a dual boot XP/Windows 7 drive - and until my family crisis - and multiple electronic/tech failures are resolved, I'm not going to tackle that one.) Don't know why it wouldn't boot from the original hard drive when the replacement second drive was installed. Any thoughts? since it does boot with the bad drive - although it mentions the hard drive problem and allows me to select F1 to continue. At least I'm up and running - and the main, original drive seems fine. (I have used Acronis - and did a back up and incremental over the summer. Then did a full clone in December when I thought the drive was failing. But I am still quite confused by the acronis instructions - and would like to start from scratch. Now I have a 2TB external drive and would like to make the proper kind of back up. How should I do this - as the words on some of instructions Raven often links use clone at one point but seem to be talking about a different kind of back up. One complication is that the original thread for acronis 2010 - with pics - is gone now and acronis 2011 instructions are more fleshed out). I have Acronis 2010. Thank you. Lynn.

Gmail, as far as I know, does not have a mail program. It is web based email that could also be accessable via typical POP settings with Outlook Express or some other email program. What other email program do you have set as the default program ?

I'm stumbling around in Office 2010 looking for things, my long used version was 2002.

I find:
Office Diagnostics, also known as Customer Watson, is removed for all Office 2010 applications. Because of shifting resources, the focus must be on analysis and reporting features that have been proven beneficial for other teams. Users must now run the repair utility from the Control Panel."

I can locate some system repair helps there in Control panel. So far anyway, don't lose patience with me:)

Searching for Office 2010 Outlook repair tool - takes me to one for the Inbox. If I search specifically for one for Outlook Delete folder, I'm back to the Win FixIt program I've run. Running that one again shows no repairs to be made.

Try creating a new Outlook profile. Maybe check for functionality before importing your pst files.
