I got a DCS duel fuel range with five burners. I usually use the center burner only. It is much easier to clean up and the grease and grime are kept in the stove top and not on the surrounding counters and front floor. I use to clean up everywhere but with doing cooking at center burner; it makes cleaning much simpler and quicker. I do wok cooking mostly!

Hello again. I am a member of the Manhattan NKBA as such monogram invited me and about 12 others to their experience center in Louisville last year for a few days. This was not to sell their products but to show us how to use them and also to pick our brains as to what consumers want and what they can do better. One part consisted of us going around a room with 4 pro ranges ( 48" models) and clipboards simply comparing the 4 and features. The Thermador simply had amazing quality and everything felt great and solid. Things like opening the door etc. We also had specs and the burner output on Thermadors star burners is the best in the industry. Knobs feel good, there is great lighting and it is all easy to read. We were told that WOLF has amazing customer service. I am aware of that. Their range was the worst. Compared to the others it actually felt " cheap" borderline rickety and I can not believe I am saying this as I always loved the way it looked.. The GE had a lot of great features. Like racks that can stay inside the oven when self cleaning. I do believe I remember all the others have to be removed as they are plated and can not withstand the very high heat.Clean by hand this means. The oven capacity was also very large. Top is easy to move pots and pans around on as the entire cast iron surface is large and level. You can flip the iron around and have a moulded surfaces for wok pans... The parts are pieced together and can easily fit into a dishwasher. The knobs are easy to turn and read. Soft closing door. Great burner output. Easy to install with feet that have huge wheels under them. Can be leveled easily. The list just went on..... Still our main criticism was that it looked " boring" LOL. Not much personality. It's still pricey and it all checked out but a secret part of me wanted those red knobs... I know it's probably a sick personality flaw of mine... Like lusting after Loubotin shoes. We all know they hurt but want them anyways... After all this I just ordered a 30" dual fuel monogram for my place in New York. I will get it next week. I have an older Viking in Florida and all the lettering on the front has come off simply by cleaning it! I like the Viking but that alone is a shame. No one seems to sells those decals to have them stuck back on!!! I have no idea how I am cooking on that thing. I believe VIKING was sold last year and its been upgraded since then but I have no personal experience with the newer models so far.

Hi Rain Gal, I have been lurking here for a couple weeks now as I research redoing my kitchen. When I saw your post, I knew I had to offer my 2 pennies. So I joined today, and here is my experience and thoughts. About 3 years ago I bought a Maytag gas range with the same type of covering on the grates. Within a year, I had burned it off completely on the front right burner. I was shocked, and not happy. Called the local store we bought from, and he replaced it with another he ordered. What I had also noticed happening was with the silverish ring (don't know the name) right below where the flame comes out. Mine is like a rough/frosted finish. It was turning brown. Come to find out, nothing would clean it off. It's still there, looking awful. The grates turn brown too, and while most of it will come off with cleaning, who wants to clean their grates once a week?? And to top it all off, I went back to tell the seller I wasn't happy at all, and he just smiled. That's it. And then they went out of business. So much for "buying local".... The stove you are looking at looks like it has the same type finish on the rings, and definitely has the same grey enamel coat. If there is any way to get out of this purchase, I would suggest doing so. Get grates without that enamel coat, and if possible (I'm in the process of trying to find one) get a stove that has a smooth, polished finish on the rings. Sorry to be such a debbie downer with my first post, but I wish someone could have warned me. Hope it helps, and good luck!

Yes, actually. If you look at the reviews on Home Depot's website many of them will say to the right that the customer review is from cafe appliances (together with the logo for cafe). Having read through many of these reviews on Home Depot's site as well as Lowes, and on online retailers such as AJ Madison, Appliance Connection, etc. you will see the same reviews appear. From that point there are complaints by some that their reviews we removed for being negative. Review removal, either following a post or in the pre post approval process is a relatively well-known phenomenon by many businesses, and thus is not surprising. If you are asking whether I know the extent to which this practice is done by GE, I do not. If you are asking whether I know that the testifiers who claim that their reviews were removed are credible testifiers, I do not. If you are asking a deeper philosophical question about the nature of credible testimony, how much credence we should give to things and when, and whether I have can have epistemic access to the truth anything at all or whether to constantly remain skeptical, I would love to debate it further with you since I am a professional philosopher and my research focuses on such questions! However, as regards the simple relatively banal question of range reviews and oven performance, I take myself to have sufficient reasons to ask individuals on Houzz to provide their opinions as to whether they were satisfied or dissatisfied with the baking performance of the relative oven types and to provide more specifics than are often present on the reviews at big box stores. I figure since this request is one that people can ignore, there are no perceptible harms to be concerned about in posing the questions and asking for feedback. I like to cook and I like to hear about people's experiences, and the more information the better in my book.
