bailey250, Don't take this the wrong way although I can understand if you don't like hearing it. This sounds like user error. If the chain is locked up, I would suspect a too tight chain or chain brake. I don't think the 250's have an oil filter (I could be wrong). In any case it would not be an engine oil filter to avoid confusion, but a bar oil filter. If clogged, it would not lock the chain unless as den stated, it allowed the chain to work too hard. However, that points back to an inexperienced user if you let the chain get that hot. Metal shavings have no way to get into the bar oil tank/reservoir unless they are put there. I think everything inside of them is plastic. If it sat for awhile, your gas and oil mix could be old. Also your carb may be gummed up some from old fuel. I'd try dumping the existing mix in the engine and putting in fresh. That is gas that you just bought in the last week or so and oil, not just some of the same old stuff. That will rule out a fuel problem and then you can look at supply problems (carb, air, exhaust). Check out this thread about MS250 oilers.

I love my DP9 and I ordered the Anniversary Edition last month because I was informed the Anniversary Ed is the last one and only one that will work on my Vista machine (whenever it gets done). Right now I am playing musical computers --- sons', husband's, daughters'-- but can hardly wait for the machine with Vista to get here so I can load my Anniversary Edition DP. Love the DP program! I know it will take practice to get anywhere near as good as you but just the little I've learned from playing around on my own has helped me and others around me so much with all our photos. The most requested? "Can you remove this huge zit on my face?" Right now I only have DP on this computer (son's) so I wanted to try and practice doing the 'stitching' (what a neat word for it! lol) for a couple days before the music stops and I have to find another chair...errr....I mean, computer without the DP. You guys are the greatest -- Thank you all so very much! I bet you all know what I'll be doing all night long, huh? -- Practice stitching my little heart out. LOL

I didn't know of that update. Downloaded it but it doesn't install. ???!!! My original was 8.0 already on the machine. I had previusly updated that to 8.5. Uninstalled that. Got a new disk with 8.5 and installed that. Perhaps it doesn't need that update (KB9338288). ================================================== AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Got it!!!!! I finally realized the uninstall process was not removing the Calendar file with my input info. Also that the new install must have been picking it up. I finally found it and deleted it separately. Perhaps renaming it would have also worked. Then did a complete new install off the CD. All the SS and DS files function properly as well. That file is Mswkscal.wcd located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Works I just tried it out and the wkcalrem item is back in the System Config Utility =============================== My event viewer shows this all started on April 13. Only 6 days to figure it out. Not too bad. :-)

Looks to me like there is plenty of room for the bed on the right wall, but if you don't like it there, then it looks like there is room to move the door to the master further down that long hallway, incorporate the linen closet into that hallway and add a door to the closet and bath in the hallway. You might consider reworking it anyway though as the long hallway is a real waste of sq ft and it will also make moving furniture in and out harder. I would also consider adding windows on the right wall so you can get some cross ventilation in the MBR.
