Back from hospital again.....update and stress

Well we had to go back up for more blood work and another nonstress test. My arms look terrible from all the blood draws this last week. My blood pressure was up and was having sharp abdominal pains so got sent to the hospital. Dr. said that I was on bed rest until the baby comes which could mean another 3 weeks and we are talking total bed rest. I have decided and Dr. agreed that the stress on the baby and me isn't good for either of our health and will do the amnio on Friday to see if the baby's lungs are ready to be delivered. So will go for non stress test and dr's visit on Thursday and do the amnio on Friday and possibly have the c-section on Monday or before. I am scared to death, I am not all that ready for the baby,it was such a surprise to find out that I was pregnant and now I could be a new mommy i just days. I have been having anxiety problems since last week and it is getting worse which agrivates my blood pressure and then I get more anxious and it starts all over again. So think of me and pray for us, if we don't have the baby it will be a long 3 weeks without my 3 lovy kids and stuck in bed.

I have not been on the cooking forum long, so I don't know your story. I am so sorry you are anxious and having a difficult pregnancy. Stuck in bed isn't so bad ;0) Do you like to read, watch movies, write, plan meals, scrapbook... I was on bed rest 3 months and had an urgent c-section at 35 weeks. The good news is the great majority of the time, everything turns out just fine. My premie is 21, healthy, stubborn, and the love of my life.

You will be in my prayers. Hang in there.

Stacie, hang in there. That little guy was meant to be here, that's certain, from the circumstances of your pregnancy.

Relax and do what the doctors tell you. You're in my prayers, along with that new little one. I'm waiting to see you sign on as "groupinthegarden"!

Hi Luna, glad you are back! Good that the tests came out OK. Not everything is stress as drs. used to tell ulcer patients to stop stressing, well they 'got stressed by the nasty little bug they had in their guts, nothing to do with stress & type A personalities. But in your case it is a job that you can hardly keep up with,(can any work be given to someone else?) And you have just had a terrific blow losing your mom. With your other problems "the pot boiled over"!With women tho a lot just "pass it off" & have a heart attack so you were wise to get it checked out. Do yourself a favor & get a BP machine as some meds lower it too much & wash you out or if you feel dizzy again you can take it & see if it has gotten too high. We learned to control my dad's at home most of the time, he had an attack of extreme weakness today & after looking at the written record since yesterday of his BP we figured out it was little too much medicine even tho his BP wasn't quite as low as should have been. We got him to eat & he did straighten out OK. Few times he hasn't & we went to hosptial. It may be that you won't need much BP med. if you can get the work situation a little better,also as time passes & feelings arn't as raw in loss of your dear mom. So get BP machine & check in morning & at night or whatever works for you. Hugs & prayers that you get some relief from meds & workload! Jan

Glad Hoss is home!! Could have gotten out of breathe just thinking about how scarey it can be (like panic attack but shorter) then you settle down when nothing happens & are OK. You should have blood pressure machine so you can take that & it gives heart rate Omron makes a good 1 about $70 I think. I have 1 that is plugged in wall(electric) folks each have 1 that is battery operated & they work just fine. Get kind that goes up arm. Drs. out here don't care for wrist ones. REason I suggest it is so you know his heart rate if he gets out of breath & smart to keep eye on BP so it doesn't go nuts. You would have info to tell dr. then so he could better tell what is going on. GF had to have pacemaker about month after bypass but she is only 1 I know that had to have that. Maybe I didn't explain that well above. My dad will get short of breath when his BP goes very high-like 200 on top 100 on bottom & he needs bp pill right away, he is very salt sensitive so had to cut way back on it. When the pill works in about 30-45 min. then his breathing is fine, until then he kind of tries to gulp in air. (We used to race to hospital but learned to handle it at home)WalMart has that brand of BP machine. They are easy to use just don't take for 30 min. after eating or it screws up reading.(tells you that if you read directionsLOL) Jan

Hi all, Dang, my life just needs to SLOW down. Dh is doing well but Sunday morning he woke up and it was plain to see that the depression had hit him like a ton of bricks. Mind you that is even a bit funny since he is a shrink and knew it could happen but did not think it would happen to HIM! With lots of TLC he is feeling better and the last of the site pain is better. Which is good since I am searching the calender for a good day to pencil in my breakdown ;-) Thanks for all the nice comments.. I do my best to keep up and keep moving and that is a great help with the Lupus symptoms. You know the funny part was that for years no one caught it that it was the *L* that I was dealing with. It was only after the death of one of our children that one doc started to piece things toghter. Mind you.. once all the facts were together it was pretty plain and it turns out I had been flaring since I was in about 8th grade!! .. such is life. I always figure that there are others with less than me and more hardship so I need to suck it up and get on with life and walk this earth to help others. I finked out tonight on the dinner thing and just got salads from a local deli since I was tired.. but I am still looking at new ways to eat... funny really since I have been actually DREAMING about Holandaise sauce!!!! This reminds me of when I had DS in the car seat on the kitchen counter. He was 5 months old. I was standing in front of him feeding him rice cereal. I backed away TWO STEPS to the refrigerator and he arched his back and the car seat tipped forward and he slid out- right onto the kitchen floor like a burial at sea. I was in a panic. He cried like crazy for the first 5 minutes or so then got really quiet. Like he was falling asleep. I was home alone with him at the time and I freaked out. Kept thinking his little brain was bleeding or swelling or something awful, so I called 911. They sent the cops AND and ambulance but when the cops got here he perked right up the little stinker. Took him over to the ER anyway just to be sure, but boy I was a wreck. Felt like the worst mother on the planet. Just this week my 2 1/2 yo DD ran full speed smack into the dining room buffet thing. Hit it so hard it knocked her back on her behind. It actually put a crease in her skin on her forehead. Scared the wits out of me It it totally awful when your baby gets hurt. Thanks God they seem to be made of rubber sometimes. BTW, the ER doc said unless they "loose consciousness", it's usually fine. Also check their pupils. If they're equal in size and they react to light, that's another good sign. But that throwing up thing would have scared me, too.

What annie said.....this little guy was meant to be....God has big plans for him....and you too.
Just put your self into the Zone and think grow baby grow!
And make sure the Dr ties those tubes tight this time!

My oldest was born at 34 plus 2 and was perfectly healthy, his only problem was figuring out how to nurse. With al the stress you are going through it is more likely the baby's lungs are mature.

I posted on the other thread. I had one at 36.4 weeks..the same as your little guy is right now. His lungs were fine.

The only thing we "think" is off is his growth spurts. He's about 4-6 months behind his peers..but..he's 16, 5'10" and 220lbs..so he's not hurting..LOL

Stacie, Didn't you have similar problems and needed
bed rest just before Hayden was born? I know it isn't easy but I hope you are listening to your doctor and that your husband is catering to your every need.

Rest up. Take it easy. Keep that little bun in the oven til he's ready.

Oh Stacie, stay in the bed and rest, rest, rest. I'm sorry you are having problems but glad you have family and friends to help.

Yep I was on bed rest with Hayden, but it was 10 weeks of contractions. With the contractions it was just more of aproblem with my bein in pain and not a threat with the baby. With the high blood presure and protein in my urine it is hard on the baby. I have been on bed rest and also blood pressure meds my blood pressure has still been higher than they want. We go in for a check tomorrow ( if we don't get the 10 inches of snow and 55 mph winds they are talking about) and they will do an amnio on Friday to see if the baby is ready. The kids are all at my folks and I miss them so much, but bed rest is impossible with 3 little helpers.

Hang in Stacie, soon you'll have another little helper. With 4 the age you have them you might be wishing for bed rest once a quarter!!!
