Did you see my Great great great great great grandfather's statue? Colonel Wm Prescott? It's at Bunker Hill....and the home of a cousin of Wm Prescott, Samuel who rode with Paul Revere is in Concord and I believe a "historic place".

When the Vermont "sugar bush" turns it really is spectacular. I think we have beautiful leaves here in the midwest, but the abundance of maples in New England make it amazing!

Great pictures, I hope you had good time. That chapel is where I got married 25 years ago in October. The colors were beautiful then too.

So, so lovely. New England is so special, especially in fall.

I am in Pennsylvania and we also get fabulous fall color. Last night I had to go to a dinner that was held by the March of Dimes. It was held at the Mendenhall Inn, which is right in the heart of Wyeth country. It was early evening as I was driving there and the beauty of the setting sun on the trees, the beautiful rolling countryside, horses in the fields, old barns and pretty ponds was almost enough to bring tears to my eyes.

I do love fall. I'm so glad you had a chance to "peep."

Dedtired, I remember eating at the Mendenhall Inn years ago - what a special place. Don't remember what we had, but I do remember it was delicious. That is lovely country in that part of PA.

Living in New England I can say you timed it right. The ground is now a quilt of fall leaves.

I also miss the changing fall leaf colours which I used to see in B.C.

Oh - I am so homesick! We do have lovely fall colors here in Bucks County PA this year, but there is nothing like being in NE in the fall. The photos are indeed lovely!

Lindac - Colonel Prescott is a relative of yours?? No effing way! Seriously, not only am I a history geek, but his name is in one of my favorite Schoolhouse Rocks!

I was visiting my son at boarding school in NH in mid Oct. The trees were absolutely glorious. At one point we commented that the trees matched the yellow line in the road.

Beautiful pictures! I'm new to CF and from Louisiana also (near St Francisville)....

Those of you with fall color are SO lucky the leaves in Louisiana fall not from a change of seasons, but from exhaustion! They're beginning to curl up and turn brown now.

Nice to see another Louisianian on the CF. I was in St. Francisville about 5 weeks ago at a B&B called Shade Tree. Are you familiar with it?

We took the wonderful ferry fron St. Francisville to New Roads. Lovely ride!

Yes! Shade Tree is a great place! We had friends stay there a couple of years ago and their room was really neat and sort of quirky.

Gustav cut down on the number of leaves that we've got to fall since most of them got blown off in September! We're still cleaning up! How did you do??
