I don't think I've posted anything since before December when we moved near Houston to be closer to our kids and first grandchild. This is Elise who we are complete idiots about!

We gave her the swimsuit and cap for Valentine's. A girl can't start getting ready for swimsuit season too soon!

Glad you enjoyed the photos. I do have a few more raccoon pics...they are just the cutest things. One benefit for me is that they are eating all the slugs and snails in my yard! They crack the snails open like a walnut. While I do put some food out (peanuts, grapes, cat food), Mamma is teaching them how to hunt and what to eat. I do not have as many snails and slugs as I used to. I am worried about Weensie with the broken foot (or ankle?). I called a wild life rehabber and they felt that baby is best left with Mom-- even with a broken foot. I'm just worried that Weensie will be permanently lame. Anyway, here are some more pics. What is amazing is I am taking these pics from about 2 feet away from the family: Here's Mamma out in the daytime before bringing the kids; she is nursing and extremely hungry (and loaded w/fleas too...apparently...); you can see how comfortable she is lounging in my yard while I take pics; kinda blurry because she keeps scratching... Mamma enjoying her meal.... Eensie and Weensie on the bottom...Big Mac watching the wrestling from above. Ever watchful Mamma Raccoon looks on from behind the chaise. Eensie and Weensie dining al fresco at a fancy downtown St. Pete bistro.... Big Mac on the top left, Weensie on the top right (holding her own with a broken paw..); Eensie focused on grooming... Things were getting out of hand...so Mamma had to intervene and then, began grooming the kids again.

All i can say is i started them on a heating mat...used crappy lights/south facing window at first, and then moved them into a little greenhouse i have in March. Would actually move them back and forth...take them out about 11AM and bring them back in at 4ish! Greenhouses are awesome on clear sunny spring days...outside temps of 30 and inside around 90F...did that until mid May or so and since then its been so warm they have sat outside on the driveway. This spring has been very warm as most of you guys know. I do fertilize? water regularly. I have a lot of gardening experience...been container growing plants for almost 10 years. I like the performance i get out of containers. Especially with certain veggies. Just WATER! a lot during hot weather. I'm always scared i'm going to fry the roots. I got the seed of Ebay. I really don't know if i'm going to keep all these or what. I have WAY too many plants! Basjoo... just getting going. I store the corms in the basement.

I have given the artisan bread book to so many friends as gifts... pretty cool, huh? Do you guys have a special container to keep the dough in in the fridge? I bought one of the ones they recommended, but there's no convenient way to keep the lid ajar. I would love to see other people's solutions! I have not made the bread since we moved into this house (Halloween) because the fridge was so small. I am a little nervous that my new CD FD Jenn Air won't have enough room, either! (Never had a CD fridge before.)

bbabers, what a beautiful little girl. Hubby and I did the very same, we are in our seventies and have our first grands, little girl 2 and boy 5 months old. we packed up and moved to be close to them We have been married 50 years and didn't want to lose a minutes time away from them. We took one to the doctor today and the doctor was telling us his family had done the same thing, moved to be near grands. . Where did you find that swim hat. Our two year old has been taking swimming lesson since November, would love to get a swim hat for her. Isn't it wonderful to be idiots over these sweet faces.

What a pretty gal. I understand wanting to be near her. I haven't seen Allison in person since Thanksgiving. But, I do get to see her on skype. Thank goodness.

bbabers, thank you so much for posting the site. There was one little itty bitty problem, there is no way that I can just order the two items. Already tagged 4 items and called daughter and told her to look at the site. That is a wonderful site for beautiful things for our cuties. You all have lots of fun with you sweetness. hallngarden, you will be in REAL trouble if you go to one of their stores. They are truly grandmother places. It reminds me of the saying that grandparents carry wallets with pictures of their grandchildren in them where their money used to be. Enjoy!!!!

chisue, yes there's definitely red hair under that cap. It's really starting to come in and showing a little curl. She can't keep her hands out of it! We are keeping her next week. I'll try to get a picture that shows her hair.
