Hi Bill

Boy you are popular today :)

We just finished grouting our shower (matte subway glass tile if that makes a difference) with SpectraLOCK Epoxy Pro Grout and I was wondering how long we should wait before we use the shower? The instructions say wait 10 days to cure for use in submerged applications or steam rooms - obviously we are neither of those but they do not say when we can use in a "regular" shower. The other instructions are.....Full Cure 7-14 days depending on temprature (we are in the Caribbean so average temp is 85 - high humidity) Stain Resistance 2 days, Heavy Foot Traffic 12 hours.

Do you think waiting 2 days is enough?

Although I'd recommend calling their tech dept. to make sure, I don't see a problem with it. You might want to make it 4 days just to be sure, unless they tell you something different.

Thankyou therenee...my parents really love the shower...I came up with the in-wall cabinet idea when I remodeled my small bathroom in my home. I even made a recessed towel rack on it because the bathroom was much smaller...it looks like this: At my parent's home, we put in a 2x6 wall there instead of 2x4, to have more usable space inside the cabinet...at my house, I still had more room than the newer homes, because of the old lumber that really was 2x4 and because we went with a little bit thicker sheetrock (5/8) on that wall to help with sound insulating

I agree, but there's a specific WAY to use the Oxyclean. Start off by mixing it about twice the normal strength recommended on the side of the tub. Next, use a brush to agitate (scrub) it. After you finish an area, rather than mopping it up, use a wet-vac, and vacuum it up, instead. The reason I say this is because if you mop it up, you're just imbedding the dirt right back into the grout with the mop. With a wet-vac, you pull it right away from the grout. Once that's done, do the same thing all over again with clear water. Scrub it, and then vacuum it up. Once it dries, it won't be like new, but guaranteed, it'll be 100% better than what you started with.

Let me put it this way. If you have kids coming in from the pool, and they go running across the tile (I'm assuming you're talking about polished rectified porcelain), there might be an accident. So long as people don't go running across it, though, you should be fine. As for the nonslip coatings, I had a couple of links saved and about a year ago my computer crashed, and I lost them. You might go over to John Bridge's forum, though. I'm sure someone over there could give you the links.
