How do I reduce icon & font display size?

I have Windows XP. We had a power failure today and it shut off my computer. The computer is back on and now the icons on my desktop are ridiculously LARGE, as is any text. Additionally, I clicked on a card game and those are enormous as well. It's like the display is for a visually impaired person. I tried to fix it and I went into "View" on the tool bar and "Zoomed Out". I restarted my computer after that and it didn't do anything. I know that this has nothing to do with the power failure and is most likely from something I did previously.

How do I get those Icons and the Text back to their factory setting sizes?

I forgot to mention that I also went into "Properties", "Appearance", and "Effects" to see if I had the "Use Large Icons" box checked and I did not.

rather than do that I would do a real quick simple system restore because those may not be the only settings that got changed, doing one to a time just before all that happened should put your pc exactly back to how you had it set up. A system restore is really easy and quick to do you just choose a date to go back to from the calendar presented and then reboot basically.

Renee, I'm using Photobucket html tag. I checked and I didn't see anywhere to change size or where size is mentioned. I'm new at this, so go easy on me. I was able to display the size on my pictures by right clicking on the photo in one of my posts. It says w 800/ h 600 but this is after I post and can not be changed. I will need this to be very simple, very simple. I would really like a software program that does all this for me or If I MUST a good book to show me how to do the text myself. It would have to be a "Dummies" book. Thanks and if you know more, I'd love to hear, Mona

Go back to the tool bar and choose View on the upper toolbar. When it opens up Choose Text size . A little menu with increase or decease will pop out. By choosing increase and do that a second time you can increase the font size for the session you are reading emails. You would have to do this every time you read email I do that two times to increase the size for eyes too. I think it is about a 120 increase. At least it is on the Sea Monkey browser I use.

I don't see a way to change the font size if you're using Internet Explorer which it seems you are. Is it possible that your screen resolution has changed? If so, everything would be larger not just the font. To change that right click on an empty spot on your desk top (not on an icon) and choose Properties on the drop down menu then click on the settings tab. If I remember right there is a slider to adjust the screen resolution there. Write down what it is if you adjust it so you can change it back if needed.

No, no FKB problems. But, I think I know what your problem may be since I occasionally had this problem until I figured it out! Be sure your browser window is wide enough to fit the kitchen that's currently being displayed. Try expanding your browser window so it's wider....that should bring the kitchen to the top. BTW...the font issue others are talking about...have not experience this at all in either version of Firefox that I'm using.... I do have AdBlock Plus on both machines and I did update it, at least on my home machine (3.0.11) recently...sometime this past weekend. I don't remember updating my work machine yet (3.0.12).
