jerry, if I interpret your last posting correctly, looking at START -> ALL PROGRAMS -> STARTUP, will not show all of the programs that run when you boot the computer. Try the START -> RUN then type in msconfig as the file to OPEN. This will result in a System Configuration Utility screen. Click the STARTUP tab and look at the files that have a check mark in the box to run on startup. If there is one there that smells like epson, that probably is the culprit. The files there are uniquely named and if you are unsure as to whether to uncheck a file, there are a number of websites that identify the programs and tell if it is okay to uncheck them, e.g., answersthatwork.com.

Toolbar wasn't locked. Whats a vertical drag bar? And how would I drag open the address bar if I don't have or see one? Sorry, I'm obviously very inexperienced and confused. I do remember moving a "separator" to inactive because I couldn't see it or know what it did. So I've put it back but still dont see anything there. (By the way, because I didn't see it I added it again and the word separator went in again.But still don't see anything.) Please don't laugh. I'm really trying.Thanks, Sandy

If its that bar across the bottom with Start button on the left....and clock on the right. Right click a blank spot on it and choose Properties and you should see some checkmarks, one of which says always keep taskbar ontop of other windows.

Thank you all, last night when I was handling the dishes you see in the strainer I realized I do need a much deeper sink. I never really paid attention to it but things like that red salad bowl or the glass pan have far too much air space when they're in the sink. The part to the left of the sink would bother me more had it not been a perfect spot for the strainer to go (that way we aren't moving dirty dishes over the clean dishes to get to the open half of the sink) and surprisingly it doesn't spill much on that side even if we do use the faucet over there. Luckily there's plenty of room to the right of the sink for placing larger dishes that need to be washed.
