I'm fine and I'm not. Off work at the moment with health issues. Hopefully nothing but I'm having problems. Doc found my thyroid out of whack a few months back and that was a major stride forward. Mostly healthy enough to make it to work and have a drink after work.

Work is half the problem. Mostly stress issues that I suspect are not helping my personal health. Telling myself that I'm strong enough to beat the stress. Expected blow-back from my getting control of the chemicals situation. I think I have control... or more so then in the past. Some new issues but all I've had to do is e-mail and things get taken care of. That is all I ask as a safety person is that things get looked at and a rational decision made. Some recent personal attacks that I have weathered fairly well so far. Ahh... work place drama!

Some serious consideration to going off on disability. Almost enough to live on... almost.

Kitties are all fine. Favorite moved to the garage and has pet door access to the great outdoors. She turned into a world-class mouser... pity the small rodents in her sights. Leelee moved in and her former owner was a young girl. Leelee has this whole surrogate baby syndrome going on so she sleeps with her head on my pillow and lays on her back in the crook of my arm. Impossible not to love her. Yoko is getting old and spends more time sleeping in warm spots then I care for. Annie and Jessy remain litter mate close and are seldom apart from each other.

Michael/Lyra, it's so good to see you here again, I was hoping you were doing OK and Elery mentions that he "sees" you on Facebook, although he only checks that occasionally now. Too busy, summer on the farm, yada yada. (grin)

Yes Annie I've missed you. I also miss keeping up with your imaginary daughter. Am I recalling correctly that she was on track to get married?

Anyways... I visit less because the ads got in the way. I had to delete the Flash Player from my IE browser and that has helped much of my web travels so I may be able to stop in more now.

Dolly now has Maddie to play with. About 18 months ago I brought home a puppy and gave it to Dolly telling her it was her puppy not mine. Maddie is named after Madeleine Albright. I was frustrated trying to think of a name and shouted at myself I might as well name her Madeleine Albright... Maddie as a name stuck in my mind and so it was. Maddie was supposed to be a collie/lab mix... I think it was lab/rotweiler. She certainly has the pulling instinct the rotweiler breed is know for... not mean at all but she does have a big dog bark.

I'm loving my time off work as we have been running the usual 7 days a week. Really hot in the factory this year. Found the maint dept forgot to turn the heat off from last winter. Back to the doc tomorrow and then probably back to work. Seem to have an infection but sitting home is not curing it.

My sisters and other near family members are spread over the country for I Facebook a good deal... our electronic dinner table.

Glad to hear you're getting by OK, and I hope you get your health issues sorted soon. I suspect you're right in thinking that work stress isn't helping, but I am glad to hear the chemical contamination episode has come down on your side. (Maint dept sounds like a bunch of eejits.)
Give your kitties a pet from me, I understand your unease about Yoko. Our Missy is getting to that point and currently being treated for mast cell cancer (successfully, we hope) but at 16 the reality is we won't have her for too many more years :-(

Yes, I agree with Colleen, your maintenance dept sounds like a bunch of eejits to me too, it's 100 freakin' degrees here all summer and they're running the heat? Arrgghh.

Oh, and I'm off work permanently. I retired in January. Got a new boss who couldn't wait to have me gone, so I did him a favor and left. Didn't let the door hit me in the rear on my way out either!
