Before and In Progress - Pic of Small and Only Bathroom

Hello everyone,

In the midst of a complete remodel of a home that was just purchased. It is a small 2 bdrm 1 bath. Here is the before and in progress pictures. Really wanted a shower only but since it is the only bath, have to keep the tub.

Yes those are mirror tiles on wall opposite vanity.

Replaced the tub and still looking for a vanity and new toilet to put in after the workmen are out of the house.

Does anyone have something like this and should it contain the shower spray?

Looks great. What an update.

We decided on a curtain, but had looked into those. The feedback I got was that they did work. And I've found with our shower that the area at the back of the tub barely gets wet.

One reason I like our curtain, is that it keeps the heat from the shower in. If the curtain is open even a little at the back, it feels drafty.

Another thing to consider is that you may need a stud or blocking in the wall behind where you want the glass to go. We had blocking put in just in case we decided to go that route.

Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor.

Hi! Well, we're still not finished with this DIY bathroom...so all I can really tell you is that I do still like the floor ;-) We have a solatube in the ceiling, though, so it's a relatively bright room (it's a window-less closet otherwise). I don't have a picture to show the layout, but basically when you walk in the door the vanity/sink is right there, across from the entry, and the door can only open a bit over 90 degrees or it hits the wall. To the right of the sink is the toilet, and to the right of that is the shower/tub combo. It's cost-prohibitive for us to move anything around layout-wise. We couldn't add any storage beyond the vanity, except with shelves above the toilet or hooks/bars on the wall. Honestly, for me the best solution to storage problems in our small house is to streamline and de-clutter. All. The. Time.

Just one side note, it was mostly DIY- all of the plumbing and tub installation was done by a plumber. And the plaster walls were resurfaced by a professional. They were pretty bad after removing the tile. And my husband wanted plaster not Sheetrock.

I've used showers with those tub screens in hotels in Europe. They work fine, contain the spray, and they look really cool....

We used the same type of shower door/screen when we were visiting England. English hubby didn't see an issue with the style, but I felt I had to stand much closer to the front of the shower, even though the glass worked just fine to contain the water. It's just what you're used to I suppose.

In redoing our bathroom, it was suggested that we could go with the glass, but I have vetoed in favour of a full length/width curtain.

Agree with budge1. Drafty and cold. Also would be tough to wash a child or a dog with that arrangement.

Nice job however I would have completed the paint work before setting the WC, one less fixture to navigate around.

I love the look. Would you mind sharing the make and model of your tub? I love the simple lines of it and I thik it would work for us, as well.
