I just got done posting about how I made Lou's Fluffy Cheesecake, and then went to check my email. There, coincidentally, was an email from Lou. He's lost his son. Please add him and his daughters to your prayer list.

Oh, Lou, I am so very, very sorry to hear this news. What a sad loss, and the very worst thing a parent may bear no matter what the age. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Oh my goodness, that is wonderful news about little lambykin Ben. Sure is a scary bout you guys have had. None of that other stuff that has happened has even come close to this, huh? Yep, when our children are involved, it goes to a whole nuther level! Do you guys know how blessed Little Ben is to have you two wonderful parents?? You guys are angels to endure everything you have went through and still come out with your great attitude. Yes, these things shall pass, I love that attitude, Kirk and remember, if that mountain was smooth, we'd never learn to climb closer to our God. Thank God for the Dr.'s who know how to treat those little darlings like Ben. I am soooo happy he is doing better, be sure to show him all his little pictures on this post,I know he loves them! Wish I could send one, my computer wont let them go through for some reason. Kudzu, sounds like you have your hands full, woman. Hard enough to get around with your injury and then to take care of a sweet lil grandson is hard. You are so lucky to have your big hunky Hossfly, he is a real blessing to you and I know he has probably waited on you hand and foot. Glad your GS got to spend a little time outside and enjoy himself, he'll just have to take it slow. Tanya, last, but NEVER the least, my heart goes out to you for everything you are going through with your mom. I am lifting you both up in my prayers for a powerful, powerful healing and strength and peace of mind that will bring you both back to a happy peaceful life. God is good, and just waiting on us to call his name. Not only do we need him for everything, He needs us to love him back. And that's what so many of us do here is love him back by prayer, faith and worshipping him. God Bless you all, I love you so much. Now, I better get down from my pulpit, I feel like I'm gonna have a good ole Pentecostal runaway,(yep, born and raised in one!) with all of the prayers that everyone has asked us to pray, because, DON'T YOU KNOW, it is an HONOR and a BLESSING to pray for someone. Shambo: I don't know what to say. Just looked into your Blog. Have to start looking into these more often.Looks like I'm losing everybody to the Blogs. Sounds like you have a winner. Good Show !!!!! This is the 4th, I've looked into this week and they are talking about me. I didn't do anything and I feel like a Celebrity. I've been using Sea Salt in a lot of recipes. My daughters say it's better for me, because I'm on the BP borderline. I just got back home. Brought about 80 bags of toys to the Geisinger Hospital. They are for the Pediatrics Ward, for the Children treating there. It's all by fundraisers, from the VFW Ladies Auxillary , I'm the go getter. Seems strange not to be doing this with my wife, this time. There I go again Rambling on again ! I'll talk to you later about the Low Sodium Recipes. Thanks, LOU

Chisue, I don't know if it's true about the maternal side but show me a person who is bipolar and I will find a family member in their past who also had "issues". Unfortunately a lot of Bipolar traits (and other mental health conditions) are overlooked as quirks or just people making bad choices. Things like serial marriage or relationships,alcoholism,drug use,obsessiveness, "artistic temperament" etc. There is still a trend to blame nurture or background for certain criminal behaviors. An example would be be something like "he takes drugs because his father drank and beat him". No one takes the next step of considering the possibilty he takes drugs to self medicate and his father drank and beat him because father was mentally ill also. It's much more comfortable for people to look at things as good or evil or appropriate or inappropriate. Looking deeper and beyond is uncomfortable and scary for most. No one wants to look too closely at dysfunctional generations of families. It is easier to blame culture and nurture rather than nature. The idea of so many mentally ill is too frightening for the general population. But until mental illness is de-stigmatized nothing will change.

Janie, no, no babies. There is a little donkey there that doesn't look very good, but he is about two months old, and so he will probably live, since he has lasted that long. I don't think his mother has much milk, but we wouldn't be able to get him to nurse this jenny, and, too, I am sure his mama loves him. I wouldn't want to stress her by taking her baby away. However, I have taken another donkey from the pasture...or, rather, she took it on herself to get in the corral, and so now I feed and take care of her, and she is in foal. I don't think it will come for about a month, so maybe the weather will cool off a little by then. This is just an awful time of year for foals to be born, but since they are all pasture bred, they can come any time, and I have seen a couple of other jennies that are very heavy in foal, and due soon. There is also a new black baby born last week. It is so precious. I am going to feed the mother every time she comes up, and maybe she will start coming up all the time.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this terrible news. Was Lous son sick I dont recall that ever being spoke about I remember when his wife was ill. So very very sad for Lou and his family. My thought and prayers are with them

Lou, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I lost a grandson a few years ago who was only 20 years old. As Annie said, 'losing a child seems so out of place in life's progression'. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this terrible time.

Never expected all these responses.

I've been busy the last few days, emptying Steve's apt.
Very sad seeing all the things I've give him, thru the years and
now they are coming back to me.

Lou, I still think of you every day, sending up a little prayer for you. Going through his things is so bitter sweet, and so difficult. All the memories it brings up can make you smile and weep. I will keep on thinking of you every day.
