It's a combination of factors. Some of it is variety and genetics. Some of it is the potting mix used. Different potting mixes give very different results thus you'll often see recommendations for either ProMix brands or Metro Mix brands which are pro growing mediums. Some of it is the temps maintained in a greenhouse - 55-65 degrees. Cooler temps slow growth and makes for stockier plants. Some of it is the air circulation provided by massive exhaust fans. But the biggest difference is that plants grown in a greenhouse get much more light - as much 3-4 times the light you can provide without a greenhouse - and that makes for a shorter stockier plant with shorter stem lengths between nodes but a better ratio of roots to nodes. They are also grown in dark containers rather than clear plastic. Clear plastic exposes the roots to light and causes the roots to shift deeper into the dirt to get away from the light and heat. Leaves like light, roots don't. Darker colored containers are better. And their roots are kept cooler and further in the dark by the black holding trays and the abundance of shade over the root ball by the massive crowding of their plants. Ever seen a 40' long table of tomato seedlings packed edge to edge? It looks like a mini-forest. And greenhouse producers also tend to use foliar sprays for feeding rather than root drench, growth controlling hormones in some cases, and timed misting for watering or drip irrigation systems. All in all a big difference from the environment you can create at home. Not that it makes their plants better, just mass produced. ;) Dave

Callieandkarin, yes my boys are big and DD#1 has a male and he's even larger. My girls are a little more petite in the 15 lb range. I love ragdolls, once you have them you can never go back. They are so dog like that they were more of a dog than my actual dog,. LOL They used to beat the dog in run and fetch the ball and she was annoyed to say the least. Of course she was elderly by then but she loved her cats. So gentle, affectionate, loyal and clever. Are your cats crazy about drinking water from the tap? The girls used to turn on the tap every day to help themselves to fresh water drips- I had to wrap towels and stuff around all my taps for a long time to break them of this "habit". they also are constantly going around the house and opening drawers - or maybe that's the resident ghost? Kren pa - yes I think they do love the sink because it's cool. I have 4 cats - that's my limit - so sometimes they go into the bathtub or shower.

Can you do this while unplugged from the internet? XBOX 's are built for computer transfers. Can you transfer a virus from the XBOX to the PC? I don't think so. That's not a very good answer is it? XBOX 360 can be hacked. The likely-hood of your son having a hacked XBOX without knowing this is slim to none. This is something that XBOX owners try to do. Cracking the XBOX 360 is analogous to cracking a game ...which is playing without paying. As far as Microsoft not getting viruses!? Microsoft is the king of viruses. That is their big numero uno problem and why we have a hundred or so updates in our Control Panel. Every patch and most updates represent a vulnerability exposed by hackers. Microsoft's track record is the worst in the industry. If you downloaded and saved to a disk what you wanted from the Microsoft sites and then did a data file transfer offline? You are going to need a gaming site to answer this question honestly. What your son wants to do is normal for the XBOX. This is not out of the ordinary at all. How risky is it? How risky is it when you turn your computer on...always very. Until I got my security up and running on my new hard drive...I was shocked at the amount of popups I got on my desktop!!! I wasn't even on the darn internet. But with the background process for IE always running for Windows you are accessible at startup. You are really going to need a game site. Your son might be right. XBOX360 and the computer are meant to go hand in hand and really hand in hand when Vista arrives. Computers will be able to challenge XBOXERs online with VISTA...yep we will abe able to play each other if we got the cash. Then on the other hand logistically it is scarry. You don't want to be vulnerable at any time your are hooked up to the internet. Try the "Forumz" at Tom's Hardware (which is a high tech computer site). If they don't know, no one knows. Hi ravencajun and silvervista, Thank you so much for this information. I read it and was shocked to see this. I immediately sent this to my son and told him to tell his friend who was recommending it. He has downloaded Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware. I told him when he first mentioned it that Malwarebytes was a great program and he downloaded it but his friend was saying it was better than Malwarebytes and I thought I never heard of it before and that is why I posted it here. I figured if there was something wrong that someone here would know about it. Thank you so much for letting me know about this. I am going to also call my son to tell him that I have sent him the links about this program, so that he won't miss it. Genes, I will also send him the message, as far as his computer is concerned I really don't know what he has but I do know it is a Dell Computer and newer than mine. I will let him know how to find this out if that is he is able to boot up. Right now his wife is having health issues and the computer is at the bottom of the list for now. This has given me a chance to warn him before he did anything. He said that he ran Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware and didn't find anything but, his friend got on his computer and said he had trojans and something else that I can't remember off hand. The people who built my computer wanted to put McAfee on here and I told them absolutely not and I told them to put Norton in instead. Afterward they started recommending Norton because they found out that it did a better job.
