Picasa 3 or another site to store pictures

I just invested in a new tower and of course everything has to be restored.

I have Picasa 3 and when I went to look at the pictures that are on the computer, there came up lots of duplicates and they are all muddled up. Is there an easy way to get them straightened up?

Perhaps there is a different program that I can install and get rid of Picasa. I am back on XP instead of Vista which I was having a lot of trouble with.

Any suggestions.

I use Picasa 3. My pictures are set to upload into Picasa, but also into My Photos. They are all in files, neatly organized. You have to create files and then make sure you import stuff where they should go. Keep them organized. Anything that duplicates you can go in and delete.

I use Picassa3 however, part of it must be corrupted, because even though it appears to close it does not, and I get program ending when I do a shut down, but NP I downloaded a photo editing program I like so much better, does so much more, and it was FREE also called PhotoScape.

I have my photos stored on Picasa web album, and here's how I upload my photos from Picasa to GW. 1 - I check that my albums are shared with "Limited, anyone with the link", if they're not Public; 2 - I open the photo that I want to upload; 3 - I look on the right side of the photo to locate "Link to this photo" and click on that; 4 - I high-light the codes in the box under "Embed image", then copy the codes; 5 - I return to my post on GW and paste the copied codes. Sorry, I misunderstood your question. Normally there are two ways to get the pictures from your camera to the computer. Either attach the camera to the computer with a usb cable which fits into a port on the camera or buy a card reader for the type of card your camera uses to store the pictures and remove the card from the computer and put it in the reader which plugs into the computer. If you mention the brand and model of your camera someone can offer specific advice.

I have used imageshack for many years ImageShack I also have photobucket but do not like it nearly as well. One album site I have used is winkflash and you can share your albums. winkflash digital photo printing just heard about this one last week imgJoe and one others have mentioned but i have not used GalleryHosted

Hi mystic, All your Picasa photos are on your hard drive, right? I don't know that Picasa stores any photos. I think if you delete a photo from your hard drive, then it will disappear from Picasa. Anyone else know for sure?

I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong but if it comes down to it and you think your database is corrupted, I've included a link from the Picasa Help Forum that explains how to repair your database and restore your photos, files and edits.

are you looking for an editing program or an online storage site for your photos? hard to understand just what you want.
You will probably have to sort through your photos and pick and keep and organize them into folders.

you might want to check out gizmo's very recent article of his top picks.

Picasa 3: By going to Tools > Folder Manager you can select the specific directories you want to scan.

I don't simply trust any of these programs(totally)for my pics. I put them all in folders, which I then put on a flash drive, and also my slide shows, clips etc. are at a free on line storage place, all for safe keeping many of my movie clips of my pics. I burned to a CD or DVD also.I love making movies of my digital photo's, adding voice or music etc.
