Compare 3 Browsers

I tried Chrome yesterday then did the following investigation.

I cleared out all with CCleaner. Then opened/closed 3 browsers in turn followed by CCleaner to see what turned up. I opened each browser 1) w/o going to any site 2) going to this forum w/o opening a post 3) this forum and opening one post.

All were initially opened to a blank page ie no home page. After each trial I ran CCleaner and recorded how much got cleaned out.

This table shows the result. Chrome seems to have a big appetite. I'm sure this will have a significant impact on everybodies' choice of browser. :-) I didn't use FF because I uh um well hate it. Well some people don't like chocolate sauce on their steaks either.

I always find non-scientific tests interesting and at times informative. My only question here right now is since you report IE6 are all the other browsers obsolete versions also? I ask as we can't compare apples and oranges.

Also, you can run CC, close it, open it, and run it again with a report appearing of some data found. Admittedly not the numbers you report though.

Perhaps CCleaner is able to better clean Chrome browser cached items more thoroughly - and that nearly 6mb maybe inaccessable to clean from the others .dat or user cache's.

Wow, what a difference! I tried IE & Safari on both Windows & Mac, and the difference is amazing (we have an iMac with an Intel processor that runs windows and mac at the same time). I'd never even given thought to the color the browsers can display. I'd always thought more about the monitor than the browserÂas well as the OS, affecting color, and knew the Mac OS paid more attention to color. Very illuminating about the browsers! It's such a weird feeling running Safari on Windows now. I haven't figured out how to get it to sync the bookmarks like you can on Safari and all the Mac stations. --Ron

I don't grow the other two, but Rose Masterpiece will be one I always have with me. Early flowering (one of my first to bloom), large blooms with good substance, lovely color with little to no blotching, reliably winter hardy. It always elicits comments from visitors. Personally, I can't think of a thing not to like about it........Maryl

All the browsers were up-dated the day before. And last week Google chrome failed miserably in some speed test. "Microsoft is also touting IE9Âs "hardware accelerated" HTML5 capabilities. However, in our testing, IE9 was not significantly faster or smoother rendering the demo page on MicrosoftÂs site than were Firefox, Safari or Opera. Great example of the number of ads that appear with out using a browser that has ad block plus. Firefox with ad block plus and easylist is what I use and never see an ad. LOVE IT. Lindakathy I have mine mega zoomed too, have to with my visual problems, but that should not have to be done on a well designed website.

Scientific or no if you chart stuff up, plot it up or cross plot it, something interesting may show up.
