pop up window that keeps coming back

I keep getting a little pop up window (about 3"X3") in the middle of my screen and there's nothing on it but Warning on the upper top left corner

and a little box that says OK in it down towards the middle bottom;

and a little box to check that says: Do not show this message anymore. That's it. Nothing else is showing inside the box so I have no idea what it is or where it comes from. I've checked the box "do not show anymore" but it keeps coming back. I close it out with the x on right corner but the next time I do anything it comes back up. Nothing happens when I right or left click. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this thing. It's very annoying.

I'm using Win. Xp with IE 6.

Looks like someone changed an Item in Msconfig, place a check mark in the box again an reboot see if that stops it from showing.

let the sprouts grow enough to have small green leaves, then immediately paint the leaves and small trunks with a mixture of shrub & brush killer with diesel fuel. Mix the brush killer and diesel fuel in a small metal pail. Make sure to wear protective gloves and long sleeve shirt and long pants with your feet covered. Also it would not hurt to wear goggles. Keep brushing the mixture on the unwanted sprouts until it is used up. If you have any stumps which keep wanting to sprout, you can stop it if you recut the stump down to fresh wood, drill quite a few holes into the top of the stump and immediately paint the top of the stump along with any sides of that stump, which might be above ground, with the mixture of Brush and Shrub Killer and the diesel fuel. Try not to splash the mixture on yourself or any of your outer wear. When finished let the pail air dry before you rinse it with an abundant amount of water, or in a metal trash can with lid, just throw away the pail, if you prefer. After that throw your outer wear into the washer and set on a at least one rinse and spin cycle. While that is processessing shower of paying special attention to cleaning your face, hair, arms, legs, hands and feet. Do not rub your skin to dry when finished showering, instead pat dry. Once redressed in clean cloths, finish with washing all the outer wear that should by them be finsihed rinsing. When the washer is stopped from the washing, do not put any of the outer wear in the dryer. Instead hang all of the washed outerwear outside to air dry. IF all that sounds like too much, you can always also bag up all your outer wear, and instead of washing it just put it in the same metal trash can with a secure lid, Which I described above, put it out for trash pick-up

You must have some Lancifolia or Undulata in there. If there is a viable piece of crown material in the soil they will regenerate. If you till them without getting the crown material out it won't matter. You could sift the soil to get all the white crown material out. Or a few drops (notice I said drops not spray) of Round Up will kill em. Steve

Liri, it's very comforting to know that you think the space configuration between the 2 stoves will work well. I love it when someone has had 1st hand experience with what I'm trying to only imagine. Wow, I never would have guessed that a wood cookstove could be so hard to use. We have friends that have a newer Pioneer Maid, and know some Amish that have a nice Amish-made wood stove, and both folks love them. I'm sorry to hear you have to wait a while longer for your new kitchen! It's hard to wait! I guess that will make it that much sweeter when it is done, right. Anyone else want to chime in on which plan would be better? Things I like about the peninsula plan: 1.The cooks face windows when working at the peninsula. 2. Folks sitting at the bar face the back window (pretty view) and their stools are out. of. the. way. 2. There are 3 distinct countertop areas to work at: peninsula, island, and counter under window. 3. People can get in fridges w/out interrupting workers in the working zones. 4. Seats 4 at the peninsula. 5. Set space between stoves. Things I might not like in the peninsula plan: 1. Are the counters too small and chopped up? 2. Crossing a walkway to the fridges. 3. Will I get stuck behind the island? I don't like to be stuck! 4. No closet/pantry. Things I like about the island plan: 1. Mega island with lots of room to spread out. 2. Prep sink is nice and close to stoves 3. Fridges are mighty close to stoves, I am at the fridge a lot to get a little of this or that. 4. A CLOSET (or pantry, the way Lav. drew it.) Good heavens, we could use some closet space in this house. I don't even have a broom closet at this point! Things I might not like about the island plan: 1. The area between the island and fridge stove area is going to be narrow. Will it feel constrictive? 2. Working at the island faces toward the closet--boring. 3. Stools are in a major walkway. 4. Stoves are stuck together. 5. Can't do a susan or even drawer king in the corner. 6. Are there enough areas for multiple workers? Anyone else want to chime in on which plan would be better?

The date of the initial post is shown. It is there in the list of posts before you open it (at least in my view). And it is at the top next to the initial poster's name, just below the title of the post. i don't think this is solely a houzz issue, though perhaps it is worse now. One of my very early gardenweb posts was on a garden forum about ground cover and I had it set to email me follow ups. I got continued inquiries bumping that post to the top for years. I answered questions but eventually we moved away from that house and people kept asking how my ground cover was doing. I eventually turned off the notifications so for all I know it's still popping up a decade later. Some people hate it when an old post pops up, but others see it as a legitimate continuation of the conversation. When it's spammers, I think it is annoying. But when some one is asking how a kitchen countertop material has held up, it doesn't seem irrational to me to reply to an old post. It potentially notifies the orginal poster of your question and it allows others to give input too. I have seen posters scolded for not searching before they post many times. So some people may be posting to relevant old threads after searching to avoid being scolded Trying to sort out forum etiquette can feel like damned if you do and damned if you don't.

are you on xp? if so try going to your event viewer and seeing if you have any flags showing up, Start> control panel> administrative tools> event viewer> there you will see some options like application, system etc click on each one individually and look to see if you see any red or yellow flags if you do double click directly on that item to get the info box there it will give you info on what is triggering the flag it will have an event id number too you can google that info to find out more.

No flags in event viewer. I ran an avast scan.
When the box comes up I noticed a Menu button that wasn't there before right under File (left corner); and when I opened it I saw

it sounds like when you installed AVG you did the full install including the rather troublesome toolbar that is what it sounds like is causing your problem. Try going into your browser and look for an add on that is related to AVG toolbar and disable it.

Didn't even know I had AVG. Thought I uninstalled it. When I did a search it showed 64 files related to AVG on my computer. When I removed it from my programs I assumed it was all gone but I guess I was wrong.
Thanks for the help. I'm going to do a complete uninstall. Hope this gets rid of that annoying pop-up.

heidiho there is an AVG removal tool you probably want to run it after doing your removal to make sure it is all gone.

Pop up is gone!!! Every trace of AVG is gone and so is the popup. I've tried different things so not sure what worked but just wanted to thank you all again for the help. I would not have known where to start without the advice.
