cross/post Wall mount tub spout that pulls out??? Tub fixtures qu
Comments (7)Enduring, really like your setup! My new (1983) house is sort of a contemporary-ish, transitional eclectic something or another. I found a great deal on Hansgrohe lever sink faucets and want something that will jive. There is a Hansgrohe model similar to your tub filler but with levers that I need to stare at some more. Boy IâÂÂm a dingbat; once I used your key words âÂÂTub Fillerâ I got all kinds of hits. Just a little flip of the wordage and Presto! The good news is there are a lot more choices out there than I thought (although not huge). The bad news is that I have never heard of most of the brands. For example: La Torre has some real nice looking stuff at a reasonable price. The few reviews were all good on the product itself but bad that it doesnâÂÂt come with some sort of rough-in valve thingy that is hard to find (I guess). Next, I came across this wall mount Baril from the fantasy collection that I really like. But who has heard of Baril? Not me! ItâÂÂs only $380 and must be too good to be true. However, here is the site and IâÂÂm almost convinced to give it a try. Now that I have the right search terms my problem is finding something nice that is not so traditional or overly modern. When I do find something I like it has a name I have never heard of or itâÂÂs something wack from China. Comments (17)Well, you sort of have to use your imagination with this photo. It shows the tub location with a moderately sized window right over it. Widow is second floor and overlooks a lake, it's totally private. Put a pleated window shade over it, I think it's Hunter-Douglas? It's a top-down, bottom-up, which is great in a bath. If privacy was a factor, you can use the "bottom-up" feature to just have the shade cover the bottom half of the window, so you still have privacy while still maintaining a bit of the view and a bit of the natural light. In this photo you can see the shade is slightly "bottom-up". Mongo...See MoreWall mount tub spout that pulls out??? Tub fixtures question!
Comments (2)I have had a bathtub spout with the handheld shower above it. You can also simply replace a regular shower head with the hand held which has the flexible jointed metal water hose (or what ever they are called). The big box stores carry them. Since you don't have a shower over head, you can only get a deck mount, which I also had. It sat next to the roman tub spout and the metal hose sat behind the false front. As an alternative, go to Wal-Mart and buy the blue & white scrubber on the extendable handle for reaching the far sides of the tub. They also sell replacement heads. Sold by the mops? I use this in my roman tub. Works great, easy, cheap....See MoreOkay to have no bath tub in the house?
Comments (15)I understand your desire to replace seldom/never-used tub with walk-in shower. We put a walk-in shower (without door or curtain necessary) in our previous home, which we built 25 years ago. It was one of our favorite features in the house and, when we built our current home put in a walk-in shower in the master once again. We didn't include a tub to gather dust. However, we do have a second full bath four our adult disabled child. Our child doesn't like showers and only takes baths. However, we included a showerhead with the tub for possible visitors or in case our shower was out of commission for a while. I think, if you're not worried about resale and don't figure on children/grandchildren in the future, you'd be fine without a tub if that is your preference. However, if, like most of us, you do have the possibility of resale in the future then you would have to be willing and able to put in a tub in order to sell the house. While I don't want a tub in my master bath, I wouldn't want to have a home that didn't include an available tub (even if DH and I never use it)....See Morewritersblock (9b/10a)
