Hello! Maybe IÃ¯Â¿Â½m using a wrong search term. Background: IÃ¯Â¿Â½m remodeling the master bath. The bathroom had a hideous vomit colored roman tub from 1983. Due to budget and area size IÃ¯Â¿Â½m putting in a white sleeker version of a roman with an incorporated white skirt. The shower is separate in another area. These tubs can be a PITA cleaning as far as reaching goes. Husband does not want a deck mount. The area had a standard setup with a wall spout and above that a single lever hot and cold. I want to keep this pretty simple as far a plumbing goes, can one get a pullout wall mounted tub spout? What do you call them? I want to be able to spray the end and sides for easy cleaning. Any ideas?

ItÃ¢ÂÂs looking like there is no such thing as a wall mount pull-out spout. I guess what IÃ¢ÂÂm looking for is a Tub faucet with hand shower set OR Tub mixer with hand shower set?
If you have this set-up could you PLEASE post a picture and tell me what you have and if you like it!

I have a wall mounted faucet with handset. It has 2 handles and may not be what you are looking for. It might fill slower than a standard tub filler too. Hansgrohe, Axor is the brand. There may be more contemporary styles in Axor, I don't know. Symmons is linked below for deck mounted and hand shower. I like them too.

Hey breezy! You and me both! LOL I had a different rainhead when we remodeled Mbath at previous house. It was also large and I loved it! Though when I washed my hair, I sometimes used DH's. ( I have very thick hair) We are probably still a month away of being in. The latests setback was the stair color. I told the GC I wanted kind of pecan colored to match my floor. Some how I ended up with BURGANDY! So, they were stripped and sanded and now 2 1/2 weeks later since starting the staining, they are the correct color. Sometimes I just want to pull my hair out! Omg, lol, engineerchic! I was thinking as I read your post that I had the same thing happen to me with Kohler, then read it was even the same line! I loved that stacked thermostatic valve set though. My very experienced plumber was completely confused by the diagrams in the instructions. Seems to install it for a normal arrangement of single handheld shower head and tub spout is not what they intended! After several days with no shower due to this stupid valve issue we returned it all and got a Price Pfister set locally that looks just as nice and was about $1,100 less. So much for splurging on good fixtures, we saved enough for all the "extras" that went in the room outside the fixtures! And looking back, the most entertaining part was the confused look on the plumbing guys at HD when I insisted they reassure me all the valves that are needed for the rough in are included in the box. That was all separate, and very expensive, with the Bancroft line. They were completely taken aback that you can even buy a trim kit without a rough in valve, but I assured them that yes, that was absolutely possible, and I had done just that. They thought I was nuts.

For the shower, you would just then buy the valve trim and valve, either Moentrol or posi-temp - there are pros and cons that you can research here or on other plumbing forums. The cartridge that fits inside the valve comes with the valve trim. For the shower/tub, sometimes it is cheaper to buy the set even if you don't use the shower head. But you can buy the separate valve trim/valve, tub spout w/diverter and hand shower/bar. You can mix the different Moen styles or even buy different brands. The valve trim must match the brand and valve type. You will need to buy the tub drain assembly, cover and stopper. These will need to be matched up based on the type of stopper you choose. I needed a longer tub spout so I ended up combining a Kohler tub spout, Delta valve trim to fit over the pre-existing valve, and a Grohe handshower (off of ebay). It is not recommended to buy plumbing fixtures from the big box stores because they are specifically made to meet a lower price point. The outside will look the same but the inside may have inferior components. Buy from your local plumbing supply house or on the internet - you can search this forum for good websites. Looking at your pic of the bottom of your tiles--your contractor botched that part of the job! The tiles (and the backerboard) should come all the way down to the horizontal surface of the tub. Again, I'm not sure that would change THAT much about your installation--though it might change it just the 1/4" necessary, if the backerboard truly does not sit in FRONT of the vertical part of the flange. So you SHOULD have a problem with the tile work, even if the tiles are straight and the grout looks good. The tiles were placed in the wrong place. Your tiler should have been saying, "Hey, why isn't the backerboard coming all the way down past the flange to be pretty much flush with the horizontal top of the tub?" Also, just to point out how much they let you down: "too lazy to read a manual" *IS* "incompetent." And "wanted to go home" *is* "incompetent." . . . So I could have done a much better job than the contractors we hired. Not because I'm so competent or they're so incompetent. But because they are lazy and did not want to read the manual and do a proper job. And I could have done some things better than the plumber, who was even less inclined to do a good job, because he started late and wanted to get home. I'm glad your rubber band is providing immediate assistance, but you seriously need to make these contractors readdress that--it's not correct. It looks funny, and having the backerboard in the right place might be just enough width to bring that spout back out a little bit. In the meantime, if you want to get away from the blue (because part of the problem *is* the spout's design, and you'll have the splattering no matter what gets done to the tile job), you might consider finding a plastic tube (even a clear drinking straw) that you can cut to the right height, then slit and slip around the stem. It won't build up as much soap scum, will be easier to clean, and won't be as noticeable.

Here is a Symmons tub filler with hand shower and one lever control. This brand is a reliable brand I've read, and often used in schools, etc. There are many design styles of each configuration, it this one doesn't suit you, look at the other designs.

Enduring, really like your setup! My new (1983) house is sort of a contemporary-ish, transitional eclectic something or another. I found a great deal on Hansgrohe lever sink faucets and want something that will jive. There is a Hansgrohe model similar to your tub filler but with levers that I need to stare at some more.

Boy IÃ¢ÂÂm a dingbat; once I used your key words Ã¢ÂÂTub FillerÃ¢ÂÂ I got all kinds of hits. Just a little flip of the wordage and Presto!

The good news is there are a lot more choices out there than I thought (although not huge). The bad news is that I have never heard of most of the brands. For example: La Torre has some real nice looking stuff at a reasonable price. The few reviews were all good on the product itself but bad that it doesnÃ¢ÂÂt come with some sort of rough-in valve thingy that is hard to find (I guess).
Next, I came across this wall mount Baril from the fantasy collection that I really like. But who has heard of Baril? Not me! ItÃ¢ÂÂs only $380 and must be too good to be true. However, here is the site and IÃ¢ÂÂm almost convinced to give it a try.

Now that I have the right search terms my problem is finding something nice that is not so traditional or overly modern. When I do find something I like it has a name I have never heard of or itÃ¢ÂÂs something wack from China.

That is a very nice design, but like you, I'd have reservations using something I'd never heard of. I'd want to use a tried and true brand, so that I could rely on the fixture and the rough-in behind the wall. I'd skip the bargains in this case and get known product quality.

Have you seen this website linked below? They have ranked faucets. I think there is a lot of good info on it. I don't see your Baril listed.

I think IÃ¢ÂÂm going with the Hansgrohe Axor with the lever handles. The Axor montreux does not seem to have a matching single hole lever basin faucet but as the faucets are in another room I maybe able to use the single hole Axor Uno or the Talis C. The Uno has a open loop lever that doesn't show in picture.

Still deciding on which of these fausets.

I bought this 60 x 42 tub. ItÃ¢ÂÂs not what I had in mind but it fits the space so I decided to give up the battle with husband. Looks like I may be able to rest my arms on those ledges while soaking so it might not be so bad.

We are buying this toilet. I had no opposition on this pick. Toto Vespin II.

Do you see anything that hurts your eyes (besides the tub as I have to go with that)? Think I can get away with one of those faucet picks? The vanities are in another room.

I wonder if the Talis C can sit right on the countertop or shallow lip single hole over-mount sink like the Axor Uno one. GRRR another thing to look up! I don't want that mount plate thing.
