Thanks for the link Gary.... I have chatted with the owner of that firm who supplies that link several times and amazingly he is pretty open and pretty helpful to guys calling him from the Internet! He said he suspected the main cpu board. I agree with you that it's likely to be one board or the other! Once I defrosted and drained the visibly streaming water from the control panel, those buttons began clicking nicely though the on and off button never worked. I'm pretty sure the buttons are impervious to water reaching the contacts, though it is nearly certain that there was some frozen condensation in there which stopped the buttons from clicking. You could feel they were stiff. I think the board and most components are covered in epoxy so there seems like little risk of moisture damage, as best I can tell! All the contacts appear clean. It's a shame that there is no trouble shooting guide for the main control board., and no explanation of what might be those R and F error codes! As I mentioned, at one point, and for a little while, I did see the service message, and the likely error codes of E and F. Gosh only knows what that meant, anyway!!! After all the drying out and powering up and down and moving the connectors on and off to improve the contacts, I finally ended up with the unit off, and could never get it to come on again. Sometimes the crazy icemaker light would briefly show on, and then off - even without pressing that button at all. You could hear a relay clicking. They say it's "lonely at the top". I would paraphrase that, and say that "it's lonely to work on a crazy subzero and get no help from the manufacturer." I'm told they refuse to give advise, except to authorized service centers. There is an ending to all these stories, thankfully, and I will post the answer.

Messenger & MSN browser have check marks .. so they are installed. You sort of did things backwards. Just browse and expand that list and put a check mark next to your Games & they'll come back. As you notice more things that don't work.. browse that again and add checkmarks. Usually nothing in there is required - all sort of optional stuff that is enabled when it does have a check mark to the item wanted. So uncheck your messenger and MSN browser & they'll go away & use a few less memory and cpu resources and save a few drive bytes.

I took a little road trip this weekend and happened to notice a fence that made me think of your post. It took some time finding what the style was called, but I think this is similar. It is not solid on the bottom, but has a second set of pickets that are so close together, nothing from the bad neighbors could blow through. And the advantage to the open pickets is a well aimed leaf blower will clear your side of the fence and will simultaneously blow their leaves away from your fence without you having to move off your property. I completely understand not wanting to access the fence or a hedge from their side. I have neighbors like that, too. Ugh! From what I can see it's called a puppy picket. I know this is taller than what you want, but this is the idea. Another example (I don't care for the top portion of this fence, but you can see the idea of the double pickets at the bottom, with more open pickets at the top). Take some sugar before you read this post... it will help this medicine go down. As far a voice control goes that would probably be the way to do it as rockypointdog suggests. A lot of this kind of stuff is moving faster than anyone can stay on top of it. Expensive : is a relative term, based upon what you are trying to do / trying to accomplish. There are a myriad of ways to cut costs, but you may not be able to do entirely what you want. With that said, many cases you are limited by what your structure provides you with. So just because something is deemed expensive doesn't mean you could pull it off anyway due to some limiting problem of the structure... like not enough room among other things. As an example: I would never attempt to twin furnaces together horizontally. Nor would I mismatch the furnaces. Any installation I do, I plan to maintain that equipment / repair it when it breaks. There are those in this industry who will sell you 'ANYTHING' no matter what. When problems start, the blame game begins... and /or they are long gone and can't be reached. So there is the expensive category done right that works. Then there is the 'here you go' we hope it works solution... then temperature extremes hit (hot or cold or both) and you're left to wonder what happened to your prize. Then there is the DIY and or silver bullet crowd... we're looking for a small cost gadget that will force my air conditioner and or heat to do what we want it to. I don't expect to gain any mass followers with these words... but let me remind you the truth (reality) is often stinging when you hear it. It is for your own good. You could waste hundreds of dollars chasing your tail, only to wind up damaging your HVAC system(s).
