Tub: Regretting choice and ideal not avail -help me off ledge!
Comments (9)I checked over here to see if divotdiva had posted anything about her new tub. I want one so bad, but my remodel has been delayed and may not happen until fall or even next year. When we do finally get to do ours, I may just line them up and have the upstairs baths redone too. I'd be happy to have that tub for one of them. Do you know Jason is the original Jacuzzi family? They sold the name and after a while got back into the trade with a new line -- Jason, for JAcuzzi and SON. They are not as well known a name, but they are good quality. The only concern I would have is the tub height, but that allows a decent bath where so many tubs are basically shower basins. Your guests can actually use the tub as a tub and not feel like they are in a kiddie pool brought indoors. Most of the things we have in our house have tradeoffs -- OMG, my ovens doesn't have a built-in rotisserie! Just kidding to make a point -- our grill has a rotisserie and I really couldn't see me needing one in the oven, but I still stopped and thought about it when we were making selections and it was the first thing that came to mind here. . Grab bars are a good idea, as is the curved shower curtain rod, regardless of the tub you use. If the step turns out to be a bit much, you might put a stool next to the tub so they can sit, scoot and swing their legs over. You might have to test a couple of step, stool or other ideas, but you will find a way. Worst case, would it really be so awful if your parents used your shower and you got to soak in the air tub? Yeah, definitely a First World problem, but you got a great deal on a very good tub you and your guests should be happy to have....See MoreHow many of you actually use your whirlpool tubs?
Comments (31)i emailed the jason rep to find out what exactly the lumbar thing means for $200 more, and haven't heard back yet, but now my husband said i had to choose between white and bisque UGHH more decisions lol. i definitely think i want to stick with the jason because compared to the other tubs in the showroom it was amazingly quiet. to answer the question-i think mainly it will just be me in the tub. my husband has not taken 1 bath in the 15 years i have known him and i don't see him starting. we were supposed to do this project 2 years ago but right before starting i was diagnosed with cancer and had to go through chemo and radiation which left me with arthritis in my hips, and all over body aches, this the reason i really want to make sure i get the right tub, it is definitely for therapeutic reasons. i have a very good prognosis, and am excited we have the opportunity to work on this again, and i just want it all to end up cozy and warm and inviting, and i am struggling with the floor plan, the color of the tub and shower etc, the fixtures color, the trim color, and i don't have very long to decide!! Scary!! p.s. i really think the chromatherapy thing is neat. i know it may seem silly to some, but i think i would enjoy that. It is $200.00 more, do many of you have it and do you think it was worth it?...See MoreHow to clean acrylic Jason air tub
Comments (1)Hummm, don't know how much faster it is but you'll clean less often with "Gel Gloss". It's specifically made for fiberglass and acrylic. You spray it on, wipe, let dry and buff. Works great! Makes my acrylic air tub glow! :) You can find it at Lowes, in a pink spray can. I think it now just says "polish" on the can but it's a cleaner as well. I called the company to ask why they took the word "cleaner" off of the can. Something to do with wording and regulations (but it's the same formula). Comments (1)Aren't all air tubs "bubblers"? If noise is a consideration for you, you might want to find out the dB of each tub. I compared (in person) a MTI and a Bain Ultra and the MTI was considerably louder. Are the motors/blowers the same size? One might put out a more forceful air flow (a good thing).
