Indoor Mango tree leaf tips blackening

I have a mango tree I have grown indoor from seed since march of 2008. Recently I have noticed a blackening/brownish of the tips of some of the leaves. The leaves are even starting to curl. Underneath some of the leaves, on the main vein, there is black spots. I assumed this was a fungus problem so i sprayed the whole plant with a fungicide but im not sure if it's working. I water my tree only when the top soil layer is dry which happens every week or 2. I really dont want to lose this plant! I have included a few photo links below if that helps. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!

Upon closer inspection of the mango leaves, I think maybe it is a fungus/mildew issues. I noticed that there are these white ... specs/flakes, but they kind of rub off if I run my finger across it. I was thinking maybe it's a bug, but they dont move. I had a problem with spider mites once, and they do not look like spider mites. On the other hand my Lychee plant leaves are browning at the tips and also isnt doing so hot. IT has this slightly sticky substance on the leaves. I am definitely wondering if it is an insect of some sort on it. I dont know. I will try to take a close up shot, but I dont have a macro lens.

Sorry for your loss :( However, that's great to hear about my case. It hasn't progressed since we last spoke, so I'm happy :). It's incredibly tough to pinpoint issues with these types of plants. I really have the same fertilizing habits all the time, so not sure. A drop of SuperThrive in a gallon of water. Thanks for the replies.

The damage on the leaves is there for good but monitor the newer growth to see how it goes. Fertiliser can build up in pots quite quickly as there's very little soil to act as a buffer. Regular flushing of the soil reduces the risk of this happening.

That new growth on that mango tree looks as if it has anthracnose which is a fungal infection I believe. You can probably treat it with copper fungicide. As for blackening leaf tips, I noticed that when I had an indoor mango tree. it is typically caused by too high salt in the soil. I would water with distilled water. I would also give it more humidity

Looks like lack of water. Mango's prefer sightly moist soil and fertilizer twice a year. Don't expect fruit until the plant is ready to go to college (about 20 yrs.).
