Comments (17)Hi again, Thanks all, for your input. I just wanted to come back and say I did cut down the Dr. Hueys. I basically pruned the rosebush as far to the ground as I could get. (It was really bushy, so it was hard to see!) Once I got the "bushiness" ut away, i was surprised to find that something has been digging at my rosebush. I can see the root ball. When I planted this rosebush (some 5 years ago ro thereabouts) I definitely planted it so the root ball was a good 10 inches below the surface. But now, I can see that something has been digging away at the base of my rosebush, and the root ball is, indeed, exposed. So you all were right on that pont! So now I ask you wise rosebush-caretakers, what do I do? There's still one very strong cane of the Billy's left (I can tell it's the Billy because the cane is woody and very thick - the Hueys were slim and bendy. Even the leaves were different.) so I left it intact. It's got a lot of green on it, and it's very strong, so I hesitate to cut it off, as it's the only cane remaining on the rosebush. However there are no buds on it (I think I see the *beginnings* of a couple of them, but I'm not 100% sure if they are buds or more leaves.) How would you all recommend I proceed? It's obviously still a healthy plant, and I'm 100% sure the "Billy" part of is is not dead (yet). But I don't want to dig it up unnecessarily (especially when, I believe next year, I will HAVE to dig it up, as we are putting in a deck exactly where it is now). The plant is only as high as my knees - would it be a good idea to dig it up and put it in a large container to overwinter inside? (and if I do, should I be sure to scrape off the Dr. Huey's completely, as previously recommended?) If I do that, do you think it would also be good to do it to the rosebush next to it? (The purple ones that the June bugs and caterpillars just adore?) perhaps putting them both in large, separate containers will help alleviate the issues they are having *now* so when I replant them after the deck is done, they'll grow stronger? Comments (11)Well, it's no wonder if there are two different plants in here, I looked at the plant(s) i took the cuttings from today, it's at a house I clean on Thursdays, those poor Hoyas. They are so pale, so withered, so straggly and dropping leaves like crazy, but bless the little hearts, they are blooming like no other. But I did get a close look at them and the one does/did have white edged leaves. It's just hard to tell due to the distress they are in. When she comes to my house to pay me she can't shut up at how pretty mine are, she still can't believe they came from her plant(s). So heres some more ???"s. . . #1) if it is two different species, what should I do? The roots are all entwined, it could be harmful if I tried to seperate them. #2) Are the flowers the same on both species? I ask this cuz hers are in bloom now and the flowers look a lot alike, no difference at all. Geez, leave it to me to get a mess like this going. Comments (65)Well, I seem to have the same problem. My refrigerator is a GE and I found this goo on my top shelf, then at the bottom behind the crisper drawers, then last week on the 2nd shelf. So I started my Sherlock Holmes work. No, I have not spilled anything, no food has leaked out of any containers either. What I did first was to tape paper towel to the back of the refrigerator wall. Then a place one on the 1st and 2nd shelves at the back. Then something told me to look up, and that is when I notice the compartment at the top of the refrigerator. I went and got my camera and started taking pictures. There I saw a Styrofoam piece that had the same brown stain on it. Then I went to the Internet for some researching. Here is an article I found that was very interesting. https://applianceparts.wordpress.com/2008/12/24/refrigerator-leaking-oil-colored-liquid/ Excert: "If your refrigerator is leaking an oily or oil-colored liquid and is not freezing or cooling properly, it’s a good chance that the substance is refrigerator oil. The oil is normally clear and odorless, but when the seal to the system is broken, oxygen can dirty the oil during the compressor burn. The dirty oil is also an indication of a damaged compressor as well. Since oxygen has somehow entered what should be a sealed system, and the compressor is shot, your best bet is to get a new refrigerator as the cost of repair might be equal to the cost of a new fridge." I have several videos on Youtube regarding my GE Refrigerator. I hope this one shows the inside of the refrigerator with all of the goo. This refrigerator also has problems with mold, condensation, keeping food cold, defrosting automatically, and it also have some white goo / putty or foam coming from the bottom.
