I am 50 w/ 2 grown sons & one HS son. No grand babies yet, so I still have time to garden. I had undulutas for years just got into the nicer hostas the last 3 years.........collecting ummm I would to get the top 1oo , from our forum polls. Someday:)

I'm 36, and have been "collecting" for about 6 years. All it took was one visit to a wonderful seller/show garden and I was hooked.

LOL Upnort... yes I can't wait for it to arrive. Thought I would use it on the driveway.. so no one would notice the hosta I'm planning on planting there.

I just turned 48!! on July 17th, the same day that i got poison ivy for the first time in my life!! the doctor said it was a SEVERE case and put me on steroids!! dont feel any stronger but the poison ivy is gone (still doing some itching and scatching tho)!

kinda interesting that we feel comfortable enough to tell each other our ages here. In person I tell everyone that I am 12, and then take a sip of my beer!!

I'm 48, with a brand new grandson. If you put mosquito netting over the porta- crib, grandchildren sleep just fine in a shady garden, no need to slow down with the gardening! I have liked hosta for quite a long times, but last year went to visit a grower, and really fell in love.

Paul, I broke out with a severe case of poison ivy and had to do the same thing. Well my stepson did also later on and we found out about Zanfel it is about $40.00 a tube but it works. It stops the itching and keeps it from spreading. It is the best 40.00 I have ever spent. Now I do not fear it as I once did, keep a tube in my bathroom closet. The pharmist told us about it and he was allergic to it also. I cant sing its praise enough.

Hubby is 61.
Been married for 40 yrs
Have 2 grown sons, ages 36 & 38
and 3 Grandkids, ages 10,12 & 13
Oh, I can't forget the 4 legged members of my family:
5 house dogs ranging from 4 lbs to 10 lbs
and 2 outside cats.

74 years and wife is 72.
Married 50 years.

Paul, Jill beat me to the Zanfel, I had a very serious case of poison ivy this year, and my body does not tolerate cortisteroids at all. Found out about Zanfel, and it really does work. I keep that and Tecnu extreme on hand since I'm trying to get rid of the poison ivy that the birds are seeding into my shade beds. Takes a lot of the terror out of the job.

Never seen hosta before I came to this country, bought one at Menards as dormant eye and wanted to keep as houseplant ;)
once I learned how to grow tons of my own plants from Winter Sowing gardening addiction started.

I will turn 70 this coming friday. I wish I'd discovered hostas earlier in life,but I still enjoy gardening. Been married 42 years,and counting. Phil

I'm 38, have been unsuccessful in converting my wife, although she "really likes" the Holy Mole; can't wait for it to get bigger so that she finally bites...could use the help with 150+ hostas...:-) Been collecting for about 6 years.

I am 48, and have been married for almost 29 years! I have grown boys, both married, and on grandchild! :( they moved on the 4th of July to the north woods of WI. about 9 hours away! Been collecting for about 15 years. SLowwwwly collecting!

I'm 32 with 3 kids ages 8, 6 & 4. I got hooked when I saw my parents HUGE Sum and Substance and realized that I had the perfect place to plant along the woodline in my backyard. I have only been collecting for about 2 years. At last count I was up to a little over 100 varieties. It is a great stress reliver with 3 very "spirited" kids!!

I'm 29 now, I've always loved ferns and shade woods look.
