Carol-reading lady-beet question

I just found the harvard beet recipe you posted in another question - carrots, perhaps? Is this just a regular pickled beet but with orange juice and peel? Then when you open it, you still have to make the Harvard sauce? We do like Harvard beets, and I've wished many times I could just pop open a jar, and I've even wondered about using clear-jel to make a sauce, but haven't run that by the experts yet. I usually can beets two ways, plain and pickled. Never thought about using the pickled ones for both.
