My bath canner's non-stick liner is peeling

Early this year I bought this:

http://www.canningpantry.com/water-bath-canner.html

It worked fine and all but one day I noticed large black flakes in my 7-day sweet pickles. Upon closer inspection I found considerable peeling of the black, non-stick interior lining. The peeling was mostly down low on the sides but not on the bottom itself. I have since stopped using it and picked up a dark blue, enamel model at half the price.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is this an inferior model?

Or just "Made on Friday"?

Would this happen from pouring boiling water into the room-temperature canner?

Should I not have boiled vinegar solution in it?

Should I not have run the heating elements on 'high'?

Yes, I know I should return it, my wife agrees and is on the case.

Live and learn...
