Rescuing a non-stick frying pan with burnt on grease
Comments (28)lindac92, that is possibly the worst attitude to have and it's unfortunately all too common. The planet is a mess enough as it is without disposing of cheap crap because you can't be bothered to invest in and take care of good quality products. Can anybody tell me weather it's safe to use a cleaning product like Oven Sense on non-stick surfaces? I bought it to do my baking trays and then realised it might take off the coating. I really don't want to ruin my cookware....See MoreAll Clad non-stick vs. wok pan
Comments (9)I have both, plus LOTS of other AC SS. I rarely use their wok, as the old electric wok that my MIL bought me works ever so much better. I know, I know, the perfectionist/ foodies will say that you cannot do authentic wok cooking w/o a gas range (we have elect) and a carbon steel or cast iron wok. Ours is carbon steel, I belive. I just turn it on high, let it reach max temp. and it is great. I found that the AC SS wok did not really get hot up the sides like a real wok does, plus it is too small. Maybe it would on a gas range, but it does not on our smooth top electctric range. A plain old skillet works better. If you are looking to add to your AC collection, I highly recommend getting the non-stick skillet. I have the larger one -- the biggest one I could find -- it is absolutely a must for your kitchen to be complete - essential for cooking eggs, and helpful for some other things that stick, though I mostly use mine for eggs. We have had it for 3 years, use it daily and it goes in the dishwasher. No problems whatsoever w the finish inside and out. Still looks new. The other AC piece I use a lot is the saute pan - I also got the largest one I could find and it comes with a lid and besides the regular handle, has another thing to grip it on the opposite side. Mine is stainless - you don't want non-stick for a saute pan because things won't brown properly. Have fun w your gift certificate! Lynne...See MoreElectric skillet/frying pan suggestions?
Comments (11)I have had several electric skillets in 58 years of marriage, Food Network brand was tops but tried to use it this past weekend and it was not making connection correctly as the pug in is shot. Trying to locate another one and can't. This skillet was 21 inches long by 13 wide. Love it. I got my money worth but need another one now. It was a no stick and it was prefect in that department. Anyone know where I can purchase another.? I have checked Penney's. Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy's, Belk, Amazon and Kohl's, no one has any as large as this one or the brand....See MoreBest non stick pan for cooking eggs?
Comments (8)The key to getting a nonstick pan to last is to not use more than medium low heat and not use sprays that cause buildup (removed with baking soda paste or BKF). Many people are fans of the regular TFal pans that you can buy at restaurant supply stores or Costco. I have some Zwilling Spirit pans that I use exclusively for eggs and delicate fish, but they are a step up in price. I've also used the Anolon Nouvelle Copper (disk based, very even but they may wear out) and some people are fans of GreenPan Hard Anodized....See Morelizbeth-gardener
