To be honest I am not even sure what make/model I have. Love using it though. It is non stick and it tilts so fat can run toward the drain hole.

Other than that it's a pretty basic thing.

I will be interested in watching this thread to see if anyone presents a reason why one model/feature is better than another. While I appreciate high quality tools in many ways, for something like an electric skillet I don't presently see any reason to spend much money or care a whole lot about which one to buy.

Sue, I think it depends on what you want in an electric skillet.

I have one that isn't non-stick because they seem to brown better. I bought a stainless one and it didn't get as hot as I needed, so that was a waste of money. Right now I'm using one that came off the Noah's Ark and I love it. It's a Sunbeam and you probably can't get that brand anymore.

If I wanted another one I would go to flea markets and yard sales until I found an old one that wasn't non-stick, but that's just me.

I love my current Cuisinart and use for almost everything. Even made spaghetti sauce in it the other night so I didn't have to clean the stove. I've had lots of electric skillets over the last 40 years and this is my favorite. Mine came from Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I saved 20% with their ubiquitous coupons.

Mine's a GE, it was a gift last Christmas. It's big and it's deep, but the numbers have already rubbed off the dial so I had to mark it with nail polish to figure out where 350 or whatever was.

It works fine, Ashley uses it for pancakes and french toast because it's big and can make several at a time. I don't use it much because it's so big and I seldom need a pan that big but I do use it for Spanish Rice once in a while and it's handy to have when the kids come over to spend the night.

I have the Cuisinart that hiltonc referenced and love it. I use it mostly for chicken fried steak, fried chicken and cream gravy.

I would recommend it.

Hamilton Beach non stick square electric skillet. I love it. The two things I would insist on are square and non stick, no matter what brand. The HB is a good size. I love the square for grilled sandwiches, pancakes, bacon, and so on. I still have my stainless steel round Farberware that I get out for pot roast and for hot serving, but not for frying and grilling.

Thanks for your replies. Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread. I'm going to check out the Cuisinart, GE, and Hamilton Beach next time I'm at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. Hilton is right about the BB&B coupons. I seem to get them in the newspaper and mail just about every two weeks.

I have had several electric skillets in 58 years of marriage, Food Network brand was tops but tried to use it this past weekend and it was not making connection correctly as the pug in is shot. Trying to locate another one and can't. This skillet was 21 inches long by 13 wide. Love it. I got my money worth but need another one now. It was a no stick and it was prefect in that department. Anyone know where I can purchase another.?

I have checked Penney's. Bed Bath and Beyond, Macy's, Belk, Amazon and Kohl's, no one has any as large as this one or the brand.

Also make up your mind about your skillet wattage needs.

The same brand I have and I have used it so much, it is shot. Kohl's carried it but says it is out of stock. I purchased in January, 2011. 1500 watts, the booklet says it is a 16 inch, it is large and was just prefect for me.
