Making/freezing a base for tomato sauce

User

Hi all-

I've been combing the posts on this forum- I know that somewhere, I read something that described what I was looking for, but now I can't find it again. Sigh.

I'm a complete newbie at this and after a couple of hours of searching, realize that I don't know where to start (after using one of the many suggested approaches to remove the skins).

I want to make a plain tomato sauce base that I can freeze. I would like the frozen product to be something that I can quickly thaw, season and cook up when I am ready to use it on pasta (without much more effort than heating sauce from a store-bought jar). I'd like the frozen product to be plain so I can experiment with different seasonings as I use it, without ruining a huge batch of sauce.

If anyone could point me to a recipe/instruction set to achieve this, I'd greatly appreciate it. The easier the better. :)

Thanks!

I've found instructions for making puree, for fr freezing
