Linda Lou pickle SOS plz!!

I am on day 5 and ready to cut into chunks and make syrup. I've never made ANY kind of pickles at all so I do not know what they "should" look like at this point. For those not following my other posts- I did have to weight them down while soaking in the water because several insisted on floating so I am wondering if that is part of the problem. The cucumbers changed color right away with first batch of boiling water- started looking more like pickles (duller "camo" colored green?) I am in no way blaming the recipe- this is just my dumb luck!!- but I have harvested well over 50 lbs of cukes, possibly closer to 75 and NONE have been hollow but as I am slicing the ones I soaked they ALL are hollow and full of water??? I slice them and water comes pouring out and running everywhere! My dh has been off work due to hernia and so I honestly don't have the budget to ruin a batch on "maybe" I don't even want to make the syrup if these are doomed. Any ideas/suggestions?
