Here is a picture of the Alternanthera Brizilian Red Hots which is a Jospeh's Coat but is small and brilliant as it's name implies. It does tolerate cold better than mkost Alternanthera but since it will move into the Florida Room when cold arrives there is no problem and it is easy to root.

Congratulations, Linda. It is always a great feeling when there's enough money left over at the end of the month (or an unexpected bonus comes along) to indulge in some plant shopping! These look very pretty!

Thank you all for the lovely comments and wishes. Things are just getting better here financially but Lee is not feeling well as he appears to have a cold. One of the managers of The Wave at the Contempory downstairs from where I work wants me to come there for my birthday as hw is treating. Lee definitely wants to go out and I am receiving a surprise plant from another manager. Yesterday one of my friends sent me an early birthday present and she gave me a new p;umeris stick. She would not tell me the name but said I had to wait until it blooms and then she will tell me. She did hint that it was one of the rare ones. I am excited. God truly has not been blessing me with showers this week but with floods. The good floods of blessings. Thank each of you for putting up with my bad times and listening. Linda

Linda, this is the happiest, most positive I have seen you in a long long time, girlfriend. You sure look all smiley and blushingly happy!! Good for you, you deserve something special. Lee knows how special you are. I am so glad to see you singing again! Love the plants too!!

What fun! Remember, the Amazonica dies down in the winter, so tag it and don't toss it out. I did, and it came up in the compost pile! Good thing, or I never would have known.

Talk about the alternanthera being easy to root, I was walking through HD garden center, and found a two pronged piece lying on the concrete that had broken off of a plant. When I checked out, I asked her if I could have it, and she said yes. It was so dried up, I doubted it would root, but it did, and now I have two cuttings growing in 4 inch pots.

Now my best friend in Tallahassee has gotten into the act and my husband told her I would like some strange food plant. She went to just fruits and exotics and placed an order for a Goumi, Gainey sweet pomegranate, a Bouquet de Fleurs orange and a Sweet dreams orange. I am doing a happy happy dance. Linda
