I usually just use them in salads. They are wonderful with sourcream and dill too ...I am growing them this year and they just started blooming...we'll see what happens...I normally don't have great success with cukes but them the armenian isn't really a cuke...

Great fresh and for salads. Pickling, no they have very tender skins and usually will not hold up to pickling or canning. They are similar to the English type which has a plastic wrapper, as they tend to dry out too quickly. The best cuke for pickling is a pickling variety like Northern, Alibi, Diamant, County Fair, Heinz, and a few other types that yield smaller crisp cukes. You could chop or slice it up, add a bit or salt and vinegar and maybe some dill and make a refrigerator type relish or slices. Let it sit in the fridge for a couple of days before you eat them.

Make sure you give the plenty of water! I use soaker hoses and place two next to the cuke vines.

ksrogers - so I can just use them in recipes that call for regular cucumbers, like cucumber and tomato salad and things like that?

I am sure you can find a recipe if you google cucumber salad with sour cream but truthfully I never use a recipe...I just slice the cukes, not to thick, not to thin and put them in a little dish...I sprinkle them with a little salt and pepper, sprinkle with dill and a little bit of vinegar...and then drop a glob of sour cream in there to cover them up nicely and chill...you can omit the dill and add garlic...or onion ...or green onion..you can even sprinkle them with a little sugar too...yummmm

I make cucumber sandwiches. Bread smeared with mayo and slices of cukes, and a dash of salt, and if I have some a bit of fresh dill weed. Makes for a nice sandwich. You can use those in most fresh salads too.

I grow Armenian cukes and made some refrigerator kosher style dill spears with them last summer. I ate them about mid winter and they were tasty and crunchy.

ksrogers that is something that I never would have thought of! I will have to try that! my oldest daughter would probably like that too! We have similar food tastes!

dixielib I am so glad you posted that cause I have been wanting to make some refrigerator pickles but my cukes are not producing yet as I started them a little bit late! This thing is so huge I should be able to make a big jar and still have enough to try the other recipes!! Thanks for the tip!!
