Wild plum jam recipe needed

I haven't made jam in years and have a few questions. IIRC I cook the unpitted wild plums with a small amount of water till they are tender, then run thru food mill, but can't remember the sugar/plum ratio. And seem to remember they don't need pectin? Am cross posting in cooking forum so I can get these processed quickly. Thanks!
