Evelyn, They were there, I saw them, I didnt know you were looking for one at the time, sorry.

Most places that would have them on a usual basis are usually not close to Orlando, so it would have to be delivered or some other arrangements made.

I keep saying I am going to start a BUNCH of these plants, yet never get around to it. Maybe next week.

Tony, a couple week backs there was a newspaper article down here about a guy who planted his whole backyard with them (his wife thought he was nuts) and now he sells ONE berry for $3 on the internet and has waiting lists, lol.

Yikes. Logee's Greenhouse (mail order) has a miracle fruit plant in a 4 inch pot for $29.95 They are taking orders for it; they have a very high demand.

There is another mail order source that has some available, but I had a very poor experience with product & customer service from them, so I won't even mention them. Actually, I can't mention them, Gardenweb has had a bad experience with spam from this other source, and has blocked any mention of them.

You might want to give Kerby's in Brandon a call. I know I have seen them there before.

Tony, Ihave found numerous sites for seeds and they are instock or coming into stock in the next couple of months. I have also located a source for the trees. The price is not bad and they say they are in stock. I have not done business with these people but may order the year old tree at $19.95. Linda

Hopkins did have them for sale at Mounts. They are totally out of stock. Another Florida mail order company bought most of Hopkins' Miracle at Mounts. The other company is the one that I had a terrible experience with, so I won't mention their name.

I would be interested to hear what your experience is from the place you linked to. I also found that site and considered ordering from it.

However, My gut is telling me not to order from them; no real company name, & my personal opinion is that the design of the web site is kind of cheesy. Not that the web design has anything to do with them planting and selling good product, but wanted to pass along my instinctive reaction. I hope I'm wrong.

If anyone finds any other sources, please let us know.

There is an ebay seller with good feedback. His seller ID is siampalm. I just ordered a plant. I'll let you know what I think when I get it.

I paid $35 for my little bush from Hopkins. I was told I can expect fruit in two years. I did get to tase the fruit last week at the Treasure Coast Rare fruit club last week. It was amazing!

Tony - I have dozens of volunteers in the ground under mine. Feel free to come and take as many as you like.

Thanks for the offer, its a good one too. Too bad fuel isnt a buck a gallon though. Round trip in fuel these days would be the same as a full sized plant ! I will pass the offer on and see what happens!

If you ever decide to clear them volunteers out from under the mother plant AND you dont mind throwing them in a box and have the mail man deliver em for a fraction of the cost it would cost to drive there, I would paypal you the cost... (hint hint) I know the volunteers make just as good compost as anything else, so there is a 50:50 chance, right?

There is no wrong answer in the above hinting.

Let me yank a few of them out and put them in containers. If they grow, I'll save them for you for our next swap. We're going to be in Lake Wales for Labor Day Weekend and maybe we can hook up there or close by on our way up or back if you aren't coming here in October.

Larry at Our Kids Tropicals doesn't have any, but he has a waiting list and is hopeful that he will find some. Of course, now I have to go visit because he was so nice, and it sounds like I could use some more plants.

Apenberry's does not have them.

I'll be calling Kerby's and Hopkins tomorrow - time slipped away today. I'll post their responses.

Lukas Nursery in Oveido may have some Miracle Fruit plants. Hopkins Nursery sells to them. If they don't have any ask if this plant can be added to their "wish list". I asked for a rare flowering plant once this way and they got dozens of them in just a few weeks.

I do have one , but it is small (6 inches) and I am sure wont be fruiting for a few years.

I would gladly buy the fruiting one for 89.00 but like it was stated before, I am not 100% trusting of the site for some reason.

Okay - I spent an hour at Lukas' today. No Miracle Fruit, but now my name has been added to the list of 40! people who want one. I'm special, because I asked for three.

I've pulled (yanked, actually) 3 seedlings from under the mother plant and stuffed them into 1 gallon cans. Tony, all three are yours unless you don't want them all. I think there are two or three more there, but the mosquitos that haven't been told about the aerial spraying yet, are just too hungry right now.

Thanks! I sure dont mean to be a hog, however, yes, I could use em all. I am working on getting these for a new GW'r here on the Fl forum named Jennifer who's GW name is jenv14. Each of her young children were able to try the fruit I had and are now hooked on em. I am sure the plants will be well cared for. I will try to convince Jennifer to attend the fall swap-a-que.

Okay, the breeze has picked up a bit and the bugs have been blown back into the Everglades. Saw our first gator in at least six months in the lake behind the house; about 8'.

Anyhow, I went and yanked 3 more, including one that had a tap root so long that I put it into a three gallon can. Here's the booty:

Ha, ha. I just asked my husband if I could go to the Miami area with a guy I met on the internet to trade plants with another guy who has some "miracle fruit".

The bus to the funny farm is on its way.

Ha! That will be the day. He didn't even want me to let the kids have the berry, but they weren't listening to him. I was still alive, and that was all the info they needed.

I picked a huge cucumber today, almost two lbs. He would rather have one of those waxy ones from Publix than my gorgeous, organic cucumber. Silly city boy.

We're in negotiations for a weekend trip to south Florida. I'll just have to make sure I start so many plants that he needs to take me somewhere to get rid of them!

LOL I attended my first swap right in my town, but the second one, oh boy, DH thought I was nuts driving a few towns south to meet someone I met on the net to drive to Ricky's swap. I told him these people are gardeners for heaven sake! not axe murders. Well that person is Butterflygardener and she is one of my closest friends. It's good that he's looking out for you but really you don't have to worry about this bunch! Heavens, you have already met Tony, our resident pervert! Only kidding Tony and Mary Beth are tow of the nicest people. We all love them here.

I placed an order with a tropical plant site last night. They say they have Miracle Fruit plants, and they are $35. I'll be interested to see what actually arrives, an I'll keep everyone posted. They need to learn about Search Engine Optimization. They never came up when I was looking a few nights ago. I cam across them by accident, while looking for an Acai. I may as well get all of the fad fruits while I am interested.

DH actually isn't that worried, I think he is just surprised that I found a guy to be buddies with this time. This is the same behavior I displayed when I got into quilting ten years ago. I went nuts, bought everything I could find, and dragged him to every quilt shop I could find when we were on vacation. The only big change is that I am dirtier now, and if I neglect my stuff it dies. I don't hear too many complaints from him when he sits on the sofa, wrapped in a quilt, eating home grown cucumber salad.

I bought an 'established plant' from a florida nursery and was disappointed--it was a 1-year plant stuck in a very large pot. Unfortunately, I can't mention the name here.

The seeds grow pretty easily as long as you keep the medium good & acidic. I have quite a few started, will probably put them on ebay when they're a little larger, or may trade for something...
