two gardening event in St Pete(m)

I was at Sunken Gardens in St Petersburg and they are having a speech called "everything about crotons" on Saturday(free w/ admission). I think it's at 11 or 11:30 am.

They have these 10foot crotons and amazing bamboo ,etc,it's worthwhile if you are in the area.

Also, I just got an e-mail from a friend that Mitch Armstrong Nursery (specializes in rare and unusual tropicals) having a sale this Fri and Sat 9-6pm 1331 39 ave North .phone 727-526-2575.

I've never been to the above nursery,but am going to pay them a visit:)

Thanks for the info, Teeka! I'm right down the street from Sunken Gardens - I just love that place.

I've never been to Mitch Armstrong Nursery either but have heard good things about it.

I assume you'll be keeping pretty close to St Pete during your visit. If you intend to venture further afield, I'd recommend a visit to the remarkable rose gardens at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. In addition to the vast array of roses that Malcolm Manners has collected and oversees there, the college is famous for the buildings Frank Lloyd Wright designed for its campus (the world's largest collection of FLW-designed buildings situated in one location). Lakeland is roughly the same distance from St Pete as Sarasota (but in another direction). Donny, are you still selling roses at the Farmers Market in Raleigh? If so, when would be a likely time to find you there come spring/early summer?

It's not at Mitch's nursery.
It's at Annie's house.
Since they closed the downtown Sat morning market,

bren2, I know, I can NEVER make things on saturday but because I have so many crotons, I have rearranged all sorts of kid activities so I can attend (and find the babysitter is also a headache!)

Hi all, just found your blog about our sale this past weekend. Unfortunately, our nursery down in Palmetto is still not ready for retail. Who knows where we will pop up around St. Pete next ?!
