Teaching kids jelly making

I made this recipe today....just because....I don't have any kids or grandkids at the age I could teach canning to that are close by ...but if I did...I think this recipe would be such a good one to peak the interest of a kid ...A good start to a long career in preserving....This isn't my recipe but a girl on a canning list that I belong to posted it and I couldn't help but wish I had a Grand around..I think they'd get a kick out of Kool Aid jelly....I just tried it and it is very tasty...

Carrot Jelly

1 pound Carrots

1 package Sure-Jell® fruit pectin

1 package Orange Kool-Aid® (I have also used lemonade flavored as well)

5 cups Granulated sugar

Boil carrots until soft. Remove carrots and measure 3-1/2 cups of the juice in pan to make jelly. Boil juice for 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients and boil 5 minutes. Pour into jars and seal.

Boiling water bath 10 minutes.
