Here in the bay area, there is little to complain about. Currently blooming: rose 'honey dijon'-- interestingly, the hard frosts we had in January have put some red streaks around the edges. Unusual, but nice! lots of pansies--mine are beige-pink-terracotta and black species violets (sweet violets) brugmansia 'charles grimaldi' various snapdragons various geraniums (pelargoniums), though my favorite now is 'solstice chocolate'-- nearly black passiflora caerulea lotsa daffodils and grape hyacinth, though I'm most excited about the muscari plumosum (feather hyacinth) which is budding but not quite ready yet primroses (I hogged up all the ones with silver brushstrokes on the petal tips) and also gold laced scarlet and silver laced black primula victorianas And dammit, my brugmansia sanguinea (scarlet angels trumpet) aborted the one bud it had finally rewarded me with. I really enjoyed it and felt that it was VERY busy! So glad for the vendors. Found a purple Blue-eyed grass! Who knew! Also got a creamy white/green croton called Lucious(?). Went specifically to get my little green/white Thai caladiums, two more pots. A black sapote... Since papayas are no longer dead to me, I thought I could give this one the same treatment. Large pot wheeled into the makeshift green house for the winter. Love the gal that has the own root roses for just $6, though I now have bought all her varieties. Did get Marie d'Orleans. I was there this morning... Tons of butterfly material, and a fairly good selection of herbs, but not so much in the way of native plants. Of course, there's lots of stuff that I wanted, but I really tried to focus on the things which will serve a direct purpose in my garden... I ended up with a Stevia plant and a native Acacia tree. The Stevia was a good find because now I can have a homegrown healthy sugar substitute. And the Acacia is just exactly what a particular arid, sun-baked section of my yard needs I'll post some pictures when I get around to shooting the garden again. The event is still happenin' tomorrow. Let us know how it goes, anyone else who makes it.

Yeah, I was there with my rosemary on. I saw Musicman and aroidgardener. The prices seemed a little high to me but then there wasn't anything I was looking for. I got a ginger root and a red crimun which totaled $10. I'm really trying to curb the spending. I've planted a bunch of stuff over the last year and most of it just needs a chance to grow and I'll have jungal.
