How can you tell the age of an aloe?
Comments (1)I don't know of any way to tell an Aloes' age. There are hundreds of species, and thousands of cultivars and varieties. They can be 2 inches across, or 30 feet high. Flowering is more likely with more light, but the smaller growing varieties need less light to bloom than their larger cousins....See Morehow to tell age of rhododendron bush
Comments (4)A representative of a Group in Abbotsford, BC, is seeking to preserve a healthy grove of rhododendrons in the area that are 60-80 years old from a development proposal. I was asked "How long do rhododendrons live?" Obviously, many factors are involved, but the Group feels that if a few hundred years are common, their case would be strengthened. Would it help if the species or hybrid type were known?...See MoreCan I add more cucumbers to a jar as they ripen?
Comments (7)Someone on the Harvest forum told me no, at least not after a day or two, as the pH level will have dropped as the cucumbers give up their water -- or else I could dump the liquid and start over each time I add. I don't know a darn thing about pickle safety, but my question is... Assuming you don't remove any early pickles before the late ones are added, why would it matter if the pickles and the brine swap some pH? Would the overall final pH of the combined contents be different if you added one ingredient once every five seconds versus once every five days?...See MoreCan Someone Tell Me About This Vase/Jar
