Just wanted to share...

A gal at work that I shared your salsa recipe with last fall just stopped me in the hallway to tell me that she and her boyfriend are converts!

She's rationing the batch she made now...hee hee.

I'm pretty sure this IS the world's best salsa!! You really could make some money here!

Annie has already generously shared this recipe with the world so where would the money come from? It is posted all over the web, ribbons have been won at state and county fairs with it, many jars of it have been sold at farmers' markets and local shops, along with thousands who give it as gifts or hoard it for themselves. Recipes in the public domain can't be copyrighted or patented so there's no royalty paid to the originator. We all agree that it is the best canned salsa ever and all we can do is reference the recipe's originator and thank her profusely.

I think there could be lots of money made if Annie had it canned commercially and marketed. Lots of people don't want to make it themselves!

Mostly just doing the happy dance over the news that yet another person loves this!!

Kay, as long as I don't fill the pan too full it doesn't even spatter, just kinds of "bubbles" around the edge. I stir it every couple of hours. My sister does make this recipe in the crockpot and it does fine in hers but my new "hot" crockpot tends to make the edges crusty if I don't tend it faithfully. The oven works better for me but I'm thinking one of those big Nesco roasters would also work pretty well. Food processor? Go for it, any way you can get those apples smushed up will work! I cook the apples whole until they are soft and run through the food mill, you could do it anyway you like. Annie

Easy, easy recipe for the twists! Raspberry Twists 2 c. flour 1 c. butter 8 oz. cream cheese Mix and roll out to about 9" x 14" (I had to add a little more flour because my butter was soft). Spread with raspberry jam (or whatever you like). Fold into thirds so it's 3" x 14". Cut into 1/2" - 3/4" strips and twist them as you place on greased (or parchment covered) cookie sheet. Bake @ 350 for 15-16 minutes. Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar while still warm. Deanna

Ann T, Cooper is loving having me home more than anyone else, I think, although Makayla and Bud are having a ball playing with me. Elery, well, I'm not so sure, LOL. dcarch, I can't get actually livestock other than the cattle and horses, which can get a week's worth of food and water at a time, until I move out there. We'll get feeder pigs from one of the 4H kids in the spring and slaughter them in the fall, but breeding stock will have to wait until I'm actually living there. I'm kind of leaning toward Mulefoot hogs, as they pasture well, we'll see. I sure want to make some more homemade bacon, though. The Poulet de Bresse rarely makes it out of France, but there is a Canadian variety of the Bresse called Blue Foot. It was nearly eradicated during the Avian flu scare but I understnad remaining stock is in California, so maybe, someday. The flavor is supposed to be far superior to other varieties. Having never eaten it, I can't remark on that. The girls do want to get some laying hens though, all different varieties, LOL. As long as I get good fresh eggs, I guess I don't care, I'd get half a dozen different heirloom varieties but they have to be sturdy enough to withstand Michigan winters without frostbite to their combs, etc. So, big gardens, fresh eggs, farm raised pork, oh yeah, I'm looking forward to eating well. And, of course, Elery is planning an outdoor, wood fired bread/pizza oven. Annie

Everyone always asks why my salsa is labeled "Annie's Awesome Salsa" when I made it............ I always tell them that Annie developed the recipe and shared it with us so it's Annie's salsa.

Deanna, I'm glad your friends like that salsa too.

As has been mentioned, it's all over the internet, so it's hardly a secret. My girls keep telling me that if I ever get rich, it'll be selling salsa, LOL.

Elery and I have considered doing some catering after we both retire (wait, aren't we supposed to STOP working when we retire? LOL), if I build that commercial kitchen I very well may try to market some, we'll see.

Lots of people love home canned stuff but won't or can't or don't care to make it themselves, maybe I could sell it to them.....

I'm certainly a big fan!

And that was just '07.

Why there isn't an "Annie's Salsa" cookbook is beyond me. (and who knows... with proper exposure it just might happen some day!)
