Please point me in the direction of the chili!

Elery makes a white chili that has cream in it, very rich and, well, creamy. :-) It's very good, we had it at the Michigan Run.

Elery's White Chili
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 medium onion, chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder --- I used 3 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon vegetable oil --- I used olive oil
2 (15 1/2 ounce) cans great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies --- I used 7 oz. can
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin --- I used ½ tsp.
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup whipping cream --- I used a big dollop of sour cream in each bowl

In large saucepan, saute chicken, onions and garlic power in oil until chicken is no longer pink. Add beans, broth, chilies and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in cream. Serve immediately.
You can add another can of chilies, use jalapenos instead by sauteing them with the onions and chicken, or add a bit of cayenne or hot sauce if you like it hotter than this. I'm a wimp, so I like it mild.

Thank you! I will be giving this a try. A couple of months ago I tried white chili for the first time at Ruby Tuesday's one day for lunch and have wanted to try to make some myself at home.

It's very good. My DH is an avowed tomato lover and he even liked it.

And how about those raspberry twists? They look like pastry with raz jam? but I think I'd do better with a recipe. ;-) Puhleeze.

Easy, easy recipe for the twists!

Raspberry Twists

2 c. flour
1 c. butter
8 oz. cream cheese

Mix and roll out to about 9" x 14" (I had to add a little more flour because my butter was soft).

Spread with raspberry jam (or whatever you like).

Fold into thirds so it's 3" x 14".
Cut into 1/2" - 3/4" strips and twist them as you place on greased (or parchment covered) cookie sheet.

Bake @ 350 for 15-16 minutes.

Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar while still warm.

Actually, I think it's very similar to my Nana's pastry for little turnovers filled with pineapple preserves. In later years I had to wonder how she ever came to use pineapple...not the common ingredient for a Lithuanian in mid-century Penna.

Probably one of those situations where "that's what she had" available and tried it.

It's amazing how many "experiments/accidents" become a favorite.

I'm going to have to be careful....those certainly aren't good for my cholesterol. And I'm supposed to be "working on it". :+)

That chili does sound good Deanna. I'm trying not to look at those twists - good thing I don't bake much!

Now about those raspberry twists....oh WOW! How well do they keep unfrozen. Meredith would love them but it takes 48 hours to get a care package to her.

From what we've heard, I'm pretty sure he can hold his own here!

Chase: I'm not sure the twists would mail very well. They're a little fragile since there's no egg or anything to really bind them together. Like shortbread. But....DH wasn't complaining last night when he wolfed down a few more after 24 hours in a loosely covered bowl on the counter. :+)
