Can anyone Identify this plant?

I saw this plant growing in Jupiter (South Florida area), pretty much growing wild. The flowers look a little honeysuckle-like, and the leafs are large and fuzzy, shaped like a heart. If it's a shrub, it had an extremely open form.

I've gone through every book I have and searched several forums to figure it out, and just haven't found anything similar....though I am a very beginning gardener, so it may be a perfectly common plant in South Florida....Thanks very much!

It looks like a clerodendron. Is it orange and yellow, or all orange? Hard to tell from this photo.

That’s too bad. She was hoping it was a foxglove that she had seeded in the area in previous years. We are familiar with the invasive campanula rapunculoides which is rampant in our area. Thank you for identifying her plant.

It is a type of hardy sedum, Hylotelephium spectabile, like Autumn Joy. But there are scads of different cultivars on the market with various foliage and flower colors. They are all tough, adaptable and durable plants and make great garden accents. Most tend to bloom late summer and well into fall. And they can be easily divided. ETA: just noticed this was posted in Gardening for Shade. Hardy sedums are best in as much sun as available and upright ones - like in the photo - will have less of a tendency to flop or splay if grown in as much sun as possible.

Salix species---a willow. The thing that amazes me is that I planted a six-pack of Bidens, and in the middle of each of the six cells, popped up one of these bronze-y plants. I began to get suspicious when one also popped up in one of my planters.

I believe it is Clerodendrum speciosissimum.

I had one show up in my yard a few years ago. I left it and it has proceeded to grow and bloom for me. I finally saw a Sulphur butterfly nectaring on it so it gets to stay.

It looks like speciosissum to me, too. I just learned this one recently, but it sure looks like it. I think the common name is glorybower?

I don't know much about it, but there are a bunch of them growing in a vacant but well-kept lot near my house. They're under the oaks, so they don't get mowed down. They get huge and whoever owns the lot periodically cuts them down almost to the ground and they come back. I think they bloom pretty much year-round down here.

Clerodendrum speciosissimum for sure. Container them if you have them, they send up trailers but they are spectacular starbursts of color when in bloom. Drought hardy too.

They sucker and spread like crazy.
Hummingbirds love them.
They wilt in hot sun and dry soil.
They do not die.
Cut 'em back in the winter and they're back fuller than ever come spring.
Butterflies love 'em too.
I can't seem to get rid of them, try as I might. There's always a few more coming up from traveling roots.
Beautiful flowers and leaves.

Have I given you enough positives and negatives yet?

Contain 'em if you've got 'em.

Yes its speciosissum.
And yes, unless you want it everywhere, contain it. I didn't contain mine and it pops up everywhere. Mine get about 8-10 feet tall on one season, well over my head. I planted them outside by the greenhouse and they send runners under the greenhouse wall and come up in there. I pull them up all the time. Outdoors, one plant that was plants 2 years ago is now about 50 plants, I kid you not. I pull up the ones I don;t want when they are small but the recur. Its like pulling weeds, LOL. But they are quite beautiful, and the butterflies and hummers love them. Here, they freeze to the ground every winter, but freezing is no deterrent, they are quite root hardy and perennial. The Blue Butterfly clerodendron (ugandese) and the Bridal Veil (Wallichii) do the same thing.

Here is a "long shot" of mine taken a year ago. Multiply this by 3 or 4 and that's how many I have. The sidewall on the greenhouse where these top out is 8 feet (the top where the roof starts is 12) so that gives you an idea how big they can get

Wow! Thanks everyone for such speedy responses, and for all the extra info and pictures!! A cutting or two did make it home with me, but this would be a first try at propagating anything, so we'll see!

Thanks again everyone; I think I'll slowly come out of "lurker" mode as I learn from everyone!

I am really confused on these, I'm afraid. There is clerodendrum speciosissimum or glorybower, and there is clerodendrum paniculata which is pagoda flower. But I'm seeing them interchanged on some websites. I thought I had them straightened out yesterday, and now I'm back to where I was.

And here is clerodendrum speciosissimum:

It would seem the flower heads on paniculatum are conical and more structured looking than the floppy, flatter flower heads on speciosissimum. Am I imagining this? Bihai, I can't tell from your picture, as those flower heads look a lot like paniculatum, too. ???

And am I wrong that speciosissimum is GloryBower, and paniculatum is Pagoda Flower? That's what I read on Dave's Garden, but now I'm soooooooo mixed up! I'm making plant tags for my friend who has found one on her property, and I want to get it right.
