Got lots of pics from Maryland now!

Hey everyone, I got back from vacation over the weekend and my garden was going wild! Ive got lots of pictures! Im so excited this year, a lot of what I have blooming was new last year, so this is my first time seeing them.

I guess i should post the others on a different thread, most of these are mini's , I hope you enjoyed them! I am fed up with photobucket, everything I try to fix just won't work, sorry about the big, sideways, and upside down ones. Some of them are blurry too, but thats my fault. -Jessica

I will try to answer some of the questions... fertilizer....this year, only Preen and Green in the spring on the bed. Some years I have used what is called Hooker's formula and others times Miracle Grow. I do use Preen and Green every spring on the bed. The bed contains 60 named DL's. My DH picked them all out. He also placed them in their locations. Started out trying to do by size/color, but ended up just "plunking" some of them. I did the planting. :-) At the widest part I believe the bed is about 16 feet deep. Picture #6 is Megan's Love. It was picked because our granddaughter is named Megan. I do have a lot of single bloom pictures on my web site and they are named in the picture, if anyone is interested in the name of a specific bloom. I believe I have pictures of most. I will post a link to the page below. The shape of the bed is shown quite well on another page on the web site. If you look at the links at the bottom of the daylily page, you will see a link to a page called "Other Projects". Near the bottom of the Other Projects page there is are aerial views taken before and after the bed was planted. I really don't do anything special, just let nature take its course for the most part. Some of the foliage does get kind of yucky looking some years, but as there is so much, maybe it is not so noticeable? The bed has been planted 5 years so next year I will probably have to start splitting out some of the ones that have multiplied more rapidly. Here is a link that might be useful: Daylily web page

Hi Laura, sorry I missed your post, you posted just 1 minute before I made my post haha! The beaches in bermuda were definitely the nicest I have ever seen. There were plenty of large rocks around the beaches, but the sand itself was really soft and fine. The beaches around my area dont compare at all! Definitely one of my favorite vacations even though I was only there for 5 days. My plumerias are doing really well. The cuttings you sent me are growing really well, the Scott Pratt is doing especially well, it put out a ton of growth this summer. The California sunset is doing well too, but I think I will give it more sun so it grows a little faster! My largest plumeria is approaching 13 feet tall (pot included) and is now the tallest tropical plant in my yard (even larger than the Adondila I bought!)so it's going to be a real challenge finding a place for that one inside. It has 3 inflos on it now but I can only take pictures of the blooms from my upstairs window! It's about a week or 2 away from blooming. Looks like it's going to have to get cut back next spring as much as I hate having to do that to my plumerias! I havent posted too many pics of my plumerias this year because they all bloomed so well last year that this year there have been barely any blooms at all. My plumeria Divine put out 2 flowers from the inflo that it made indoors and it is just now starting to make another inflo. My Pretty Princess has always been a late one to bloom and it's inflo is still a good month away from blooming. I hope it blooms before it's too late! Hopefully it will be a warm fall and nmaybe next summer the plumerias will all have enough growth to bloom like crazy again. I hope your plumerias and tropicals are all doing well! -Alex

Wow, I love it! Really brightens and lightens things up. When I saw the before pic something triggered in my memory that I know this house, know this person. I had not looked at who posted but thought someone was copying auntjen or it was auntjen. And it is! Isn't it amazing how we can take something as simple as wall color and make all the things we love look that much better?! What I love about this home is that it is so personal yet done so well. Not everyone can pull of what she has.

No problem, the daylilies don't seem to know that they are upside down. Dragon dreams is my favorite of the batch, very showey with that throat.

Just beautiful flowers. I like that you show the flower in its natural light. Can really see what the flower will look like in my own garden. I really like that Moses Fire. Thanks for posting.

I got some great advice on the Test forum from Julie (luvtosharedivs) and Bob regarding a free software called Irfanview. I'm using that before uploading to photobucket.
Still learning but it's a great free software.

Here's some of my favorits so far this year

Mystical rainbow, first year for this one, and its just amazing

Same for this one, im really impressed, just love it so far
Oh- it's Raptor Rap

Baracuda Bay very pretty flowers, just not many of them yet.
Caprician Fiesta -always out does it's self

At first Blush - I think this is my absoulte favorite pink that I have. Just so elegant and pretty.

Pumpkin Perfect- the color of orange sherbert mouth watering!

Trahlyta- Very pretty bloom, low bud count this year

Watchyl Digital Scream - still only a double fan, but has been blooming for two weeks already-sorry this one's sideways.

Last flight out- beautiful, beautiful plant

Big kiss- i love doubles

Hey Jessica - you do have lots of beautiful blooms now! Too bad you missed Dabo Girl blooming - I was on vacation last week and thought I'd miss some new ones, but I was lucky and didn't. I love your photo of Dragon Dreams - I'm so glad I got that one! Pumpkin Perfect is yummy! Mystical Rainbow and Last Flight Out are good performers and some of my favorites too.

They are all beautiful Jessica...so many blooms on CF...I had it once a long, long time ago. While I was gone on the road with my hubby, I lost some of my first dl's. It was one of them...need to get it again. It's a great performer, isn't it?
Your Pumpkin Perfect is just that...it's one that I also thought I'd lost then, miracle of miracles, it showed up last year, just one fan in another dl clump I had moved. :)

Sorry you're having a problem sizing, etc. I never have a problem with Photobucket, of course I resize mine and all before I upload into Photobucket.
