Hi Trini ~ Thanks for your thoughts, but this isn't a plumeria. The bush looks like a gardenia or Crepe Jasmine, and the flowers are really small.

aka. pinwheel jasmine.

Thank you all for your input. Cheryl you are right. I had looked this up again yesterday and saw that what I had is the pinwheel. The Crepe Jasmine in our main garden is Tabernaemontana divaricata Flore Pleno. It is an ancient shrub, here when we moved in over 36 years ago.

I have to tell you Flowerlady,
I have 15+ pinwheels in my yard.
It's one of my top 10 plants.
Flowers continously almost year around.
Can be cut as a shrub, hedge, even bonsai, etc.
Half of mine are shaped into standards
- like an ornamental tree - they can grow to 10'.
I've never had a pest on them.
Fertilize them 2-3 times a year
and set back and watch them bloom their hearts out.

Sharbear ~ Well, one was skimpier than the other, and maybe they just didn't want them where they had them anymore. This is a 'throw-away' society, in some areas more than others. People grow tired of things, throw them out and get 'new'. If you happen to be in the right place and the right time, you can rescue something from the dump. I and others have found lots of plants 'curbside' shopping.
