Hi Connie, I'm still planning to be there the 6th and 8th. I'm soooo looking forward to it. Today was Home and Garden Day here in Lynchburg and I had looked forward to it since last year. DH got sick last week and had surgery Thursday. We are still in the hospital, so.... I missed the tour. He is doing well and if he continues to improve we may be home by the weekend. I'm so thankful he came through ok. He has been through so much health-wise in the last 2 years. Hopefully he will be with me at the Festival. I feel the same way you do...Is it May yet? BTW.. DH and I were talking today and we are going shopping for flowers as soon as he feels up to it to make up for missing the Garden tour. YEA!!!! Plus, you know I've got to buy roses at the festival ;o) The only downer to all of this is DH won't be able to dig ANY holes for all of these plants. Wonder how much I have to pay 16 year old DS to dig! lol See ya there, Betty

I wish I could go again, but I had plans this weekend. I was just there with my family this past Sunday for the Jap. festival. OMG, there were so many people. The weather was perfect and the scenery is soo beautiful!! I felt really relaxed and happy when I go there.

The Kitchen Revival Tour is this Saturday, April 16. As I understand it, you go to the Architectural Heritage Society's office to pick up tickets, map, and tour materials. I believe they open around 10 am or a bit before. It is a self-guided, self-paced tour of whichever of the houses you choose to visit, so the local and visiting KF'ers will run into each other randomly if at all. But I thought it might be fun to list some secret recognition codes that we and only we will know to look for. Here's mine: I will be the guy wearing chrome-plated Ray-Bans - propped up on his head, if not over his eyes. Anyone else want to post a top-secret, spy-behind-enemy-lines, recognition code? Your dashing yellow silk cravate, the boa feather in your chapeau, green lizardskin handbag held by the second and fourth fingers of the left hand? Just keep it a secret, lest we be betrayed to the stasi.

It was a GREAT day yesterday at USF. There were loads of vendors (some new ones too) and SO many plants! I sold a lot of my backyard plants, I was very surprised. I got some really great succulents from the guys in our society. I am glad I went to USF last week and got my haul on hoyas right after the vendor brought in a new shipment. I did talk to Tom who supplies USF. He said he supplies several on-line vendors. Also, ALL the hoyas in 5" pots are $7. That is an outstanding price.
