They are so cool! There are a bunch that nest at a main intersection near our home. They pass over the house every so often, and ONCE actually stopped at our feeder and birdbath! I know that they're not native and wreak havoc with nesting around power transformers, but they're still another of the very beautiful creatures that God has presented us.

They look like Quaker Parrots. I had one a long time ago. His name was Boogie and he could talk.

You are so lucky to have them by your house. All I have are those annoy coo birds.

These are rose-ringed parakeets, and are beautiful. The Quaker is much smaller, with a grey breast and a shorter tail. No other wild parrot currently living and breeding in Florida has the red beak and ring around the collar of its neck, so it's pretty easy to identify it. I know they are exotic, too, but I still can't bring myself NOT to love them. VERY pretty pictures, Jan1. Thanks for sharing.

Love them. Noisy. But I smile everytime I hear them and see them fly over. When we lived in Hollywood there was a pair of blue Macaws that flew over every morning and evening. Huge. Noisy too. : )
