Peek Into Houzzers' Dream House Fantasies
Shhh, don't wake anyone up. These homes that push the limit are too good to disturb the dreamers
Ask someone about his or her dream home, and the answer usually includes a big kitchen, a lush backyard and maybe a waterslide if the person is feeling crazy. We asked you to push the limit. What wild thing do you wish you could put into your house: an indoor bowling alley, a private tropical beach, closets that go on forever or slides instead of staircases? Sure, we're dreaming. But it's fun.
For some Houzzers a dream home is in the treetops, surrounded by forests, or on Paris' Left Bank. Some of you are already living in dream homes, big and small. Take a look at some of our favorite responses to our call for home fantasies and see how illustrator Leslie A. Wood imagined some of them below.

Parrot paradise. For Houzzer michelleann1, a dream home means taking her beloved pets into account. "I would like to have a glass room with cement floors, a drain and huge branches and playpens for my parrots," she says.
Castle with all the trimmings. "My dream home is my castle ... literally," writes Houzzer lilion. "Stone, towers, hidden passageways, but of course with all the modern conveniences. An amazing kitchen, bathrooms like little spas, lots of fireplaces (gas, though — no chopping wood for me), thick and cozy furniture and big bedrooms. I could have a lazy river for my moat! If you're going to dream, after all, do it big!"
Fallingwater. Element180 took a more specific architectural route. "My dream house is Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, built on 10,000 acres in the middle of nowhere," this Houzzer writes, "with a 40 Mbps fiber-optic internet connection and full voice automation."

Aquarium house. Houzz professional John Whipple is already helping his daughter plan her dream house. "My eldest daughter is 11, and she has a design in her notebook of her dream home that she wants me to build one day," he says. "It's an aquarium house, with most walls being see-through."
This fantasy inspired Erika Jade to recall a home she dreamed of when she was little. "My childhood dream home was equally over the top, with a big climbing tree hung with hammocks growing into a giant atrium, only I think I had aquariums in the floor," she says.
Rotating office tower. Houzzer Christian Nommesen put a lot of thought into his dream house, listing everything from a rotating office tower to remote-controlled walls that could merge his living room and bedroom. "I'd be able to roll out of bed into the hot tub and watch the news on a wall-sized screen," he says. "The living room roof would be retractable, and the walls would be filled with aquariums. A small private beach with that type of sand that feels so good on your feet would enhance the landscape. I would swim to the outside by using the indoor-to-outdoor pool."

Parisian penthouse. Houzzer ismoon's dream house is a multiple-level penthouse set on Paris' Left Bank. "It has outdoor space with a fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows and all of the bells and whistles: kitchen, bathroom and Sex and the City–worthy closet," ismoon writes. "It should also come with a gorgeous billionaire husband."
