Here are some photos from yesterday and today. We had a good long rainstorm last night. So today's photos have raindrops! I was so happy to get the rain. It had been so very hot and dry here for the past 10 days.

This used to be Wild At Heart. It finally got registered as WILD RED HEART. I like the old Salter name better. It's lighter than usual because of the extreme heat here.

BUZZSAW had its ffo today, and I was so excited about its edge! Looks like this Gossard is going to be a good one!

FRANK'S STAR OF BETHLEHEM

ARCTIC LACE started reblooming today! I'd only gone two days without a bloom on this one before the rebloom started. Arctic Lace is definitely in my top 10 favorites of the year.

ARABIAN MAGIC is an older edged purple that does well in the later part of the season.

TECHNY PEACH LACE began blooming this weekend.

LAVENDER STARDUST got darker and rounder after a good dose of rain last night.

HARVEST MOTH had several blooms today. I couldn't fit them all in one shot.

My seedling "Long Tall Pinkie" is being exiled from the garden this year for lack of roundness and bud count. She's going to a friend in Kentucky. (Exotic Candy X My Darling Clementine) This photo is one for the road.

Great blooms, and I'm glad you got some good rain. 'Lavender Stardust' looks lovely with the raindrops - that's pretty enough to frame. I like 'Wiregrass Greenstar' too - very nice.

Jean - Wizard's Wish is a wonderful bicolor and a daylily that always blooms late for me, even though it isn't registered as a late. Nat - Baja California, an EM rebloomer, does have similar in coloring to Lake Tahoe Autumn, a late rebloomer. It's supposed to be a bigger bloom, and when it's established is should have a higher bud count. Trimmer is into pink oranges with red eyes and edges. Rita - Long live those three lates. Lala - I find the bud builders don't build buds every year for me. They do if they get copious amounts of rain during the growing season. But that benefits the rebloomers too, so they both do well in those kinds of conditions. Anytime I get more flowers I'm happy. Most bud builders are not rebloomers, so it's a way to get more bloom. I don't know of a hybridizer focusing strictly for bud builders. I'd love to know who that is. Debra

Vickie - I would highly recommend Adamas. It blooms like crazy and multiplies very fast. Val - I purposed didn't make them too wide so I could reach the blooms without breaking off buds or scapes. Ellie - I'm glad you liked Bewitching Eyes. It was an impulse bid on the Lily Auction. The opening price was so low I couldn't resist, and no one else bid on it. I really liked the first bloom and I hope it will continue to have similar blooms even when it's hotter. Chris - I think Ruby Lipstick has only had one bad bloom in five weeks. The blooms are always fully opened and perfect when I go outside at about 6:30 a.m. Yes, that is cardboard under the raised bed. It's all those Priority Mail boxes that my new daylilies were shipped in, plus a couple more boxes. Debra

Jan - The poly on Techny Peace is a fused bloom poly. You don't normally see polys with 5 petals and 5 sepals. It's usually 4 petals and 4 sepals. Glad you liked it! Rita - Last year I had two very obvious peaks, and early one and a late one. This year, not as much. The earlies were a couple weeks later than usual, and most of the lates were only about a week off. Plus, I have two late spiders that haven't even started blooming yet. Debra

Beautiful daylily blooms. I just love that edge on BUZZSAW, wow. Then my overall favorite here is LAVENDER STARDUST, I love the color on it.

Always love your photos. I think Buzzsaw and Wiregrass Greenstar are my favorites. They are both new ones for me or I don't remember seeing them. Judy

These are all gorgeous photos and flowers. I must be in a cream/green mood today. My favorites are Arctic Lace, Buzzsaw, Harvest Moth and Techny Peach Lace.
I'm jealous that you had a good rain. It's been almost 3 weeks straight here with no rain and temps in the upper 90's. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll see some soon.

So glad Arctic Lace is doing double-duty for you this year. It's a great one. And I LOVE Buzzsaw. I really need to get a few Gossard intros here.

Thanks everyone! By the way, BUZZ SAW should be two words. I have a lot with names that should be compound words but are two-word names.

Michelle - I hope you get rain soon. I was so tired of dragging the hoses around and water every morning and every evening. I was spending about three hours a day just watering. We got a couple of inches last night, so I'll only be watering my pots this week.

Gorgeous blooms, Debra. I love that WILD RED HEART.and BUZZ SAW is nice too.I like the edge on it. but, my favorite one is ARTIC LACE.Just love that one.

HARVEST MOTH looks so intriguing. hmmm, will think about that one. Glad your Gossard is living up to your expectations.

Way too hot and humid here for the end of June.This is our typical late July through August weather.

You always have beautiful blooms, and beautiful photos of them.

I think I like Harvest Moth the best, but I really like Lavender Stardust too.

Jean - The three that attracted you are probably my favorites on this thread.

Julia - Harvest Moth is distinctive. I need to move it to a better location. It had such great branching and bud count the second year I had it, and this year hardly any. I think the bed where I have it has become too crowded.

Debra, Lavender Stardust is really a beautiful bloom! I love all your "toothy" daylilies, and Buzz Saw seems to be a good, neutral addition to your hybridizing program and hopefully will pass on its great teeth to it's babies, or it's pollen will, whichever is the case. jan g.

Beautiful photos Debra! I really like TECHNY PEACH LACE best! Your Buzz Saw sure is showing off! This is second year for Buzz Saw in my garden and doesn't show quite as toothy as yours!

Nancy - Thanks for posting your photo of Buzz Saw. Since this was my first bloom on the plant, I was expecting some giant teeth every time. I guess it's just the combination of extreme heat and humidity that grew those choppers extra big. Yesterday I used every grain of pollen that baby had on my other toothy guys. It's too bad it was so hot that pod set is unlikely.

It looks like Buzz Saw is a giant teether, looking good. Hopefully, some pods will take with the toothy ones. That will produce very nice toothy babies.
Also like the color of Lavender Stardust.
Very nice pictures.
