How about women friends?

Since we're listing all our boyfriends, I think it's quite unfair to leave out the girls. So, without further ado (boy oh boy, I've always wanted to use that phrase), another semi-complete list -- and with fewer than I'd originally thought I had:

KENNEDY, TINA COX, TINA TAMBERG (huh....I have zero recollection of buying, planting or ever having seen that one), VERA BIAGLOW....

There are more, but my daylily "inventory" isn't exactly organized at the moment.

Let's see.....I have Julie Newmar, Katherine Marin, Jayne Lough, Baby Jane Hudson, Sarah Hawes, Ana Maria Margetts, Mildred Mitchell, Linda Beck, Linda Sierra, Judy Farquhar, April Laquinta, Jane Mahan, Jamie Girl, Yvonne's Purple Maze, Carol Todd, Jennifer Trimmer,Prissy Girl, Mee Ying, Darla Anita. Teresa My Darlene, Woman At The Well, Ida's Magic, Linda Chaffee, Tet Connie Burton, Betty Warren Woods, Paula Nettles, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Ethel Buccola, Ballerina Beautiful, and Renie's Delight. The girls definately outnumber the boys here in our garden.

Listen to me, Tisha, just stand by her the best you can---you do know only part of the story---and even if it is in response to outside factors, the pain to HER is still real. I've included a link that might help. http://my.clevelandclinic.org/disorders/factitious_disorders/hic_munchausen_syndrome.aspx My sister Margie, was diagnosed with Manchausen's years ago by one of the many Dr's she saw sometime after our Mom died. We know she did have Lyme's Disease from a tick bite she got in Ct. while delivering a horse----down here in the South----it had barely ever been heard of at that time---the aches and hurting joints all played their part in her suffering, though. Margie, after years of missing Mom so much, (They were celestial twins in the universe. They loved and fought each other more than anyone else on earth..) she began to rely more and more on painkillers---her husband would call and I would go over and try to help, but finally gave up----she was too much out of control and would go into screaming frenzies---we were never very close and that made it easier for me to just stay away from her. Margie's husband called early one morning to say she had died sometime in the early morning hours in a bathtub, with a syringe with partially dissolved painkiller medication in it. We went to St. Mary's Hosp. in Richmond to see her. I walked in the room with my family and and it was the FIRST time I'd seen peace on her face since our Mom died in 1984. Margie died July 27, 1997. I was relieved to see peace, not pain. She had a wisp of a smile on her face----the same sweet smile she had when she was a little girl.... I'm telling you this because you will always be plagued with questions. You will NEVER know the whole truth. It's her journey, Tisha and you can only help so much. Someday, you might not be able to help at all. What you CAN do is try your best to support her, even if it's a 'Thinking of You Card' in the mail--it's something positive for her to connect with....being remembered. Just let her know you still care about her. ---And you can pray for relief and support for her, and guidance and patience for you. One thing that has gotten me through some rough times is the uncanny way 'Lucky Pennies' would always show up when I needed a boost. I would be doing some dirty job, tired and worried----and suddenly, there would be a Lucky Penny, right in front of me, waiting. I always heard the words, 'I Am with you' in my heart, with each penny I picked up out of the dirt and grime. It helped immensely. It never hurts to say a little prayer. I send you warm support, prayers, and a great big hug to help you along, Tisha.

My parents are slightly east of I35 and therefore east of the major fires (as well as south, I believe), but they are having a terrible dought and my father has to haul water to his cows every day, which means my mother has to do the driving since DF is legally blind and is on medication for Parkinson's. The drought is a slow disaster, compared to the fires and tornados. I think DF needs to do a rain dance, which he would if he knew how. A warehouse burned last week in Temple, which is close to where my parents live and where DM used to go to church, until that burned down. Both of those fires were probably arson, however. Lars

Going by what Lazypup said,and i do agree with her. I have one very best friend,and we have been each others best friend for almost 50 years.We have never had an arguement. I first met lupe when we were transferred to Ca(DH was a marine)When we got our first apt she lived next door.We both had young kids then,she 6 girls and me 3 boys and i was pregnant with DD. We first spoke over the back fence as we were both hanging clothes,no dryers back then.We hit it off right away.We baby sat for each other,when needed,helped each other out whenever we could.And believe me she was there for me a lot when dh was deployed to viet nam. Our relationship grew over the years and is still blossiming.She has been there for me and i for her thru thick and thin,sickness and in health,and everywhere in between.We still go out to lunch off and on ,we invite each other and our families to each others family functions,and our kids have always called each other cousins,and still do.They greet each other with "Hi Cuz",and a hug. She truly is a best friend!! I have 6 others that i have been very close to for almost as long and one even longer,but most of them don't live close by.lupe and i still live just blocks apart,we both have grand and greatgrand kids now. I had a similar situation when I was a young bride. We had just bought our first house and I met one of the neighbors shortly thereafter. She was younger by six years but very nice. Strangely we had the same name. As time went by she copied so many of my ways, bought the same car, painted the house the same, wore similar clothing. When we put in a driveway, they did the following week. My husband made a front door for me out of old wood and I made a stained glass window with lead around it in clear antique glass, I carved the door knob for it and we still have that door. It was charming and went to each home we owned. Didn't she hire someone to duplicate my door. All the while we were friends and she had shared some of her unhappy life which she definitely had experienced. I tried to never react to her copying as I knew she was fragile. I went on to open a hair salon while I was at my art studio two days a week and working for four days. She then decided to go to hair dressing school, still said nothing. I had a Russian blue cat I named Sooty as they are grey. She bought one and named it Pooty.!!!! I am not kidding, still I stayed calm but, when she finished her course at hair dressing and got her license, she started coming to the salon daily and staying all day. Then I started to get annoyed, after one month of showing up daily I asked if she'd like to meet me for coffee. We met and I explained that the clientele and the people working for me felt awkward with someone watching them every day. She put her cup down, got up and left, and never spoke to me again. She died at age 50 from a brain tumor. She had left her abusive husband, went off with a woman, cut off all relationships from her children and mother. I felt so sad about all this but her Mom was a friend to me by now and explained the background. The father had committed suicide as well as her aunt and two brothers. Then I understood she couldn't help herself. I still pray for her family.

I'm trying to stick solely to first/last name....although there's also YAZOO VOLETA PATE. The story behind this one is very funny. Some years ago, I promptly ordered VOLETA when I saw it in a price list....you see, I misread it. I thought the name was YAZOO VIOLET PLATE, and I thought I'd be getting a flat-faced violet daylily. After it bloomed, I made an appointment to get my eyes checked LOL.

(I told you my lists have not been completely organized yet....was not kidding about that.)

If I were to add in all the daylilies with any kind of feminine aspect to the name, the list would be much longer still....

from ALLISON'S BLUSH and ANGEL KIM to RED SALLY and VIVACIOUS VICKI, with NED'S BETTINA in between. Just too many to list I think?
