Our Crassulas are going nuts right now...!
Nights in the 50°F's, days near 90°F, and they couldn't be happier. I watered a few today.

That's what I found interesting, particularly with the last cuttings pictured (the last picture, too, in my group of shots) - the cuttings (taken in April) didn't show any growth until the hottest part of the year, but we're still having nights that get to 15C, so I am guessing, as per my pseudo-scientific wont to do, is the temperatures are cool enough for CAM to be forcing growth, which doesn't appear to be hesitant on either your or my plants.

That's Josh with the mantis (I'm a dung beetle guy myself).

As to the CAM occurring = vegetative growth, I don't know it either, but it seems reasonable to assume that you can't have one without the other.

Sorry to say NO growth here yet on any of my Jades and Succulents. Our high's are still in the mid to upper 90's...and low's in the upper 70's to low 80's...won't see 50's at night till November I'm afraid...almost three more long months to go...**sigh**. Definitely looking forward to some cooler nights and warm sunny days to get the nice growth and beautiful colors on my Jades.

My Jades seem to grow right up to the Summer Solstice....and then they rest for about two weeks.
Then, around the first week of July, they all start growing again.
I notice the same pattern around the Winter Solstice. I think Jades "rest"
twice a year - the only difference is that they sometimes flower during this
winter "resting" period.

Norma, I had a hard time spotting the Mantis, too...and it was right in front of me! ;)

Hi everyone,
I noticed that my jades are also growing now. I have a few that are coloring up nicely. Our night times temps are in the 60's and oocasionally in the 50's. My Hummel's cutting is putting out some nice growth. The "jade forest" that I bought from a grocery store is also turning a nice yellow orange. Not sure what it is for sure but I was told they were also Hummel's. Honestly, doesn't matter to me. I just like the jade's leaves coloration.
